Friends I hope you have a prosperous day, I greet you with much affection. I want to tell you that I am currently sightseeing in Medellin and yesterday I had the privilege of visiting the Franciscan Church San Benito de Palermo, located on Carrera 56 with Bollaca street. (Medellin Antioquia)
0This church was built by Maria Peladines de La Fuente in 1678, at that time it was a chapel where the Virgen de las Mercedes was venerated, then it was demolished and restored in 1802. Until it passed to the administration of the Franciscans who were modifying it between 1919 and 1926 making it also a Convent.
Today it has a neo-Romanesque style is very well preserved after being restored in 2011 returning it to its original state with exposed bricks.
Here I show you photos of the current state of this parish San Benito de Palermo that is opening its doors to the Catholic faithful.
Amigos espero que tengan un dia próspero, los saludo con mucho cariño. Quiero contarles que en estos momentos me encuentro haciendo turismo en Medellín y ayer tuve el privilegio de visitar la Iglesia Franciscana San Benito de Palermo, ubicada en la carrera 56 con calle Bollaca. (Medellín Antioquia).
Esta iglesia fue construida por María Peladines de La Fuente en 1678, en ese entonces era una capilla donde se veneraba a la Virgen de las Mercedes, luego fue demolida y restaurada en 1802. Hasta que pasó a la administración de los franciscanos que la fueron modificando entre 1919 y 1926 haciendo también un Convento.
Hoy en día tiene un estilo neorrománico está muy bien conservada tras ser restaurada en 2011 devolviéndola a su estado original con ladrillos descubiertos.
Aquí les muestro fotos de estado actual de esta parroquia San Benito de Palermo que está abriendo sus puertas a sus fieles católicos.

Esto es todo, espero que les haya gustado todas estas fotografías que he tomado y que les estoy mostrando de la iglesia San Benito de Palermo, la cual me llamo mucho la atención por su estilo arquitectónico neorrománico, enmarcado en el historicismo del siglo XIX, basado en la reinterpretación del estilo románico.
