Hola queridos amigos, tiempo sin interactuar en la plataforma, entre el trabajo y las situaciones familiares no he podido subir contenido. Mi madre de 82 años hace casi un mes sufrió otra caída qué le ocasionó fractura en su hombro izquierdo, por su edad no puede ser operada y el doctor sugiere colocar un yeso y retirarlo en 21 días esperando que la herida haga cayó.
Hello dear friends, it's been a while since I've been active on this platform. Between work and family matters, I haven't been able to upload any content. My 82-year-old mother suffered another fall almost a month ago, fracturing her left shoulder. Due to her age, she can't have surgery, and the doctor suggests putting on a cast and removing it in 21 days, hoping the wound will heal.
Fue enyesada y le indicaron varios medicamentos para desinflamar el brazo y desaparecer los morados. Una amiga al pasar casi dos semanas visita la casa y nos sugiere llevarla donde un curandero sobadora que viaja de Yaguaraparo y al parecer hace caminar con sus rezos y sobadora a las personas que van con él. Insiste en que la llevemos el día jueves, que ella nos acompaña. Al llegar el señor dice que deben quitarle el yeso para poder sobar y rezarle y únicamente le soba y le reza la pierna, entonces la llevamos al CDI de la Plaza Bolívar de Carúpano estado Sucre y allí le retiran el yeso que solo le estaba haciendo peso porque el brazo ya estaba desinflamado. El señor la soba y regresamos a casa.
She was put in a cast and prescribed several medications to reduce the swelling in her arm and get rid of the bruising. Almost two weeks later, a friend visited us and suggested we take her to a traditional healer who travels from Yaguaraparo and apparently heals people with his prayers and massage techniques. She insisted we take her on Thursday, offering to accompany us. When we arrived, the man said they had to remove the cast to massage and pray for her, but he only massaged and prayed for her leg. So we took her to the CDI (Comprehensive Diagnostic Center) in Plaza Bolívar in Carúpano, Sucre state, where they removed the cast, which was only causing her discomfort since the swelling in her arm had already subsided. The healer massaged her, and we returned home.
Cual es nuestra sorpresa que en la madrugada ella manifiesta que no puede moverse y su lengua está torpe y casi no se le entiende lo que habla, sufrió aparentemente un accidente cardiovascular, empecé a indagar en el internet y me sugieren darle algunos medicamentos basados en vitaminas y alimentos que pueden ayudar en su recuperación y buscamos una doctora que vive en nuestra comunidad para que la evalúe y la dejamos descansar. Al empezar a tomar los medicamentos y comer proteína su cuerpo empieza a fortalecerse y empieza a dar paso sostenido de nosotros y su lenguaje se hace más claro la pierna que no levantaba cuando sufrió la caída empezó a moverla y caminar mucho mejor. Ella al encontrarse mejor insiste en que la llevemos otra vez a la casa del sobadora que venía todos los jueves, sin imaginar lo que le podía ocurrir.
To our surprise, in the early morning she said she couldn't move, her speech was slurred, and we could barely understand what she was saying. She had apparently suffered a stroke. I started researching online and was advised to give her some vitamin-based medications and foods that could aid her recovery. We found a doctor who lived in our community to evaluate her and let her rest. As she began taking the medication and eating protein, her body started to strengthen, and she began to take steady steps with us. Her speech became clearer, and the leg she hadn't lifted when she fell began to move, allowing her to walk much better. Feeling better, she insisted we take her back to the traditional healer's house, the one who came every Thursday, without imagining what might happen to her.
Nuevamente la llevamos y después de sobarla, ella pasa su día tranquila en casa, un poco adolorida pero normal y cuando se acuesta en la noche vuelve a suceder lo que pasó antes, pero ahora peor porque afecta la mano y pierna derecha 😭😭 nuestros ánimos cayeron nuevamente al suelo, todo lo que había avanzado se habían venido a pique en un solo día, estábamos muy tristes en casa con la situación, pero no perdíamos la fe en ella mejoraría, buscamos otra vez a la doctora para que nos diera las orientaciones si er necesario llevarla al hospital o monitorearla en casa.
We took her back again, and after massaging her, she spent the day peacefully at home, a little sore but otherwise normal. But when she went to bed at night, what happened before happened again, only worse, because now it affected her right hand and leg 😭😭 Our spirits plummeted again; all the progress we had made had been undone in a single day. We were very sad at home about the situation, but we didn't lose faith that she would get better. We contacted the doctor again to get her advice on whether it was necessary to take her to the hospital or monitor her at home.
Afortunadamente decidió que la atendemos en casa a pesar de que su tensión estaba alta, indicó un control de tensión por una semana que continuaremos con sus vitaminas y un oxigenante cerebral y mando a practicarle varios exámenes que por la situación económica no pudimos mandarlo hacer.
Fortunately, she decided that we should care for her at home even though her blood pressure was high. She indicated that we should monitor her blood pressure for a week, continue with her vitamins and a brain oxygenator, and ordered several tests that we couldn't afford to have done due to our financial situation.
La situación en casa 🏠 se tornó más difícil pues ahora teníamos hasta que darle la comida, pero sin desanimarnos empezamos a realizar terapia en sus brazos y piernas y a motivarla en que la situación va a cambiar y afortunadamente ha sido así ya puede mover mejor la mano derecha y dar pasos con una andadera gracias a Dios 🙏
The situation at home 🏠 became more difficult because now we even had to feed her, but without getting discouraged we started therapy on her arms and legs and motivated her with the idea that the situation would change and fortunately it has, she can now move her right hand better and take steps with a walker, thank God 🙏
El 24 de diciembre la animamos para que nos ayudará a picar la carne y hacer las hallacas como de costumbre.
On December 24th we encouraged her to help us chop the meat and make the hallacas as usual.
Tuvimos una rica cena en familia y tomamos algunas fotografías.
We had a delicious family dinner and took some pictures.
El 25 no las llevamos para la playa para que tuviera un día diferente y lo disfruto bastante les muestro algunas fotografías.
On the 25th we took them to the beach so they could have a different kind of day and they enjoyed it quite a lot. Here are some photos.
