Since we're all shut-in and have to find new ways to use all our free time I decided to dust off the old Netflix and try to finish season two of Titans.
I'm a big fan of DC comics and I do like what they're doing with their own streaming service, providing far more quality than the trash the CW network is doing with rights to some of the characters but really it takes very little effort to improve on that steaming pile.
The first season of Titans was dark and gritty and had real appeal until the final few episodes where it lost its way but it created a solid foundation for the team. This is the reason why I thought I'd give season two a shot.
So how did the second attempt to keep me entertained for 10+ episodes fair?
What is Titans Season 2 about?
The "Teen Titans" franchise follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong and come into their own as they leave the shadows of their superhero mentors and pick up a few stragglers along the way
The second season picks up with literal reshoots as Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special girl possessed by a strange darkness, get involved in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. That gets knocked out pretty quickly and then we're introduced to the original Titans, why they broke up and the past comes back to haunt them in the form of assassin Deathstroke.

What I thought of Titans Season 2
This show is the epitome of a story going nowhere and being dragged out for as long as possible to fill the number of episodes ordered. If you ever wanted to know how you can combine good visuals, decent actors suited to their role and then adding in ad fan fiction, written by a 13-year-old who can't put any dialogue together or a coherent story? Then this is the show for you.
In this universe dropping, f-bombs is the only way to complete sentences. It's a very dark show based on relationships so fractured, you're left wondering how these people ever came together, to begin with, or why they try to attempt to salvage anything.
The writers don't respect the characters they're using here. So many of Dick Grayson's actions go against the core of who he is. The Titans are a family, they care for one another and build each other up. At least that's how they should be written but it plays out like a telenovela.
This seems to be a continuation of the Snyderverse of ultra-violent live-action DC projects but with no enjoyable plot lines, its as if they're purposefully trying to be style over substance when substance is what endeared these characters to eh generations reading the comics and made these names cult figures in pop culture.

My rating for Titans Season 2
Season one had promise Season 2 had nothing but tons of internal conflicts, and several characters acting like psychopaths, idiots or some combination of that. In almost all of the season, nothing happens as we build-up to the only reason anyone forced their way through it, for the reveal of Nightwing.
I'd have to give it 6 daddy issues out of 10
I guess they've won enough people over to get a season 3 but I'm not expecting much, will most likely give it a miss going forward.
