There is a lockdown in the main island of Luzon in the Philippines where I am living dead center of. We had been subjected into this kind of scenario for the first time. At first I didn't get worried because for me it will just restrict our movements but since I really do not go around anymore except when going for my dialysis session.
But when the convenience store that I was buying my food from closed shop because the supply didn't came I already knew that shit's had gotten real for sure especially when we weren't able to buy alcohol and vitamin C which are hard to come by these days following the lockdown.
We do not have any problem going for my dialysis because of course we have a pass and certificate from the hospital and our village. But when it comes to buying necessities my parents could not go anymore because older susceptible or high risk individuals mainly sick persons like me and older persons like my parents, pregnant women and such are not allowed to go to supermarkets to buy.
So my parents just gives the task of buying our stuffs from my sister, they just give her the money to buy us our needs. But now fortunately there is a small wet market opened in the next village and from there we could buy our fresh foods that we can cook.
That is the disruption in our lives, just cannot do as we liked as before and of course I understand that. But there are people who continues to violate the enhanced community quarantine #ECQ like people that doesn't observe community quarantine, wet markets allowing people to get inside altogether, people going out not wearing masks and also violating curfew and the lockdown itself by loitering around, there is even reported in the news people doing cockfighting or street boxing, and private vehicles going out to non-essential activities.
So I understand the president in trying or thinking about a more stricter lockdown because of course these quarantine measures will try to slow if not stop the spread of the virus. We could not afford for a widespread infections. For one thing we have a limited capability from financial to human or "frontliner" that can manage the big influx of potential #CoViD-19 patients. So if that would happen and we already had used up the money from the government including the money that will be acquired from selling government assets just to give it to the people it will be a sorry sight for sure.
It is really hard to be in a lockdown because often even though you want to keep distance from someone it doesn't happen because of the number of people doing the same thing like in the queue in the stores plus there are really people out there that are hard-headed and doesn't understand that the government is imploring them to do and still violating the guidelines in trying ensure the safety of the many so we can finally control the infections.
There are still infections getting reported everyday and the president said that if there would be a solution or vaccine made for this health Pandemic he will lift the lockdown right away. It just means that the enhanced quarantine will continue and I guess it will take months on end until we can finally get a sigh of relief from these unusual times of our lives.
