I just got back from visiting the Waterway (Punggol) area to check out the Lorong Halus Bridge.
The trip took about an hour and a half before I reached the spot, but it was definitely worth it. The bridge itself is stunning, and the walk from the LRT station is quite enjoyable too. I feel that Punggol has become one of the best residential estates, thanks to the new HDB developments built in recent years.
To be honest, I don’t remember Punggol ever being this nice. Back then, aside from the Punggol River, there wasn’t really anything that would attract me to visit the area. There were very few attractions. However, it seems that has changed a lot in recent years. For me, it's now one of those places I’d happily return to every few weeks just to hang out.
During my visit earlier, the area was buzzing with parkgoers. The park connectors were full of cyclists, and many people came just to cross the Lorong Halus Bridge. I’d say no visit to Punggol is complete without crossing the bridge and taking in the view over the river.
I brought my DJI Osmo Pocket 2 with me to do a walkthrough of the area. Although I'm already excited to upload it to YouTube, I’ll need a few more days to finish editing the clips. And yes, I want to revive my YouTube channel, so I’m planning to upload full-length videos alongside my usual Shorts. I really want to make the most of my visits and create content for TikTok, YouTube, and here on Hive as well. I feel that it’s worth my time to visit these places and share the experience with a broader audience.
Don’t get me wrong—I genuinely enjoy posting here on Hive and appreciate the views I get, but let’s face it, the audience is still quite small. That said, I want to emphasize that although we’re a small community, we’re very dedicated to the platform.
Of course, when comparing Hive to mainstream platforms, the difference in user base is huge. It really depends on personal preference when it comes to audience size. As for me, I want to showcase my content across multiple platforms and reach a diverse audience. That’s why I’ve started formatting my content specifically for each one: here on Hive, I share photos (since we don’t have a proper video hosting dapp yet); on YouTube, I’ll post the long-form videos; and over on TikTok, I’m sharing short clips of the places I visit. I suppose this is the kind of multitasking I need to master if I want to succeed on each platform.
So without further ado, here are the photos of the Lorong Halus Bridge—fresh from my phone! I hope you enjoyed your Sunday as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my visit to the Lorong Halus Bridge—it's truly a hidden gem in Punggol. I hope this inspires you to explore more of what Singapore has to offer, one spot at a time. Stay tuned for more adventures and content coming soon across all my platforms!
