Algunos hombres se preparan un hueco en el garaje o una habitación para ver los partidos de fútbol o hacer un poco de bricolaje. En mi caso, el tiempo libre lo paso en el jardín.
Some men make a hole in the garage or a room to watch football games or do some DIY. In my case, I spend my free time in the garden.
Ser dueño de tantas plantas que necesitan un cuidado diario es un trabajo muy grato. Si las cuidas bien, regándolas a diario, cortando las hojas secas y fertilizando la tierra en su justa medida, ellas florecerán y les saldrá brillo en las hojas.
Owning so many plants that need daily care is a very rewarding job. If you take good care of them, watering them daily, cutting the dry leaves and fertilizing the soil just right, they will bloom and shine in the leaves.
La planta que más trabajo da es el césped. En este caso planté grama catalana. En verano necesita un riego constante por donde le da más el sol y menos por las partes más sombrías. Pero con paciencia cada día va a mejor. El el reproductor de música pongo buena música para que la tarde sea perfecta.
The plant that gives the most work is the grass. In this case I planted Catalan grass. In summer it needs constant watering where it gets more sun and less in the shadiest parts. But with patience it gets better every day. In the music player I play good music so that the evening is perfect.
Y alguna bebida con un poco de alcohol y unas hojas de hierbabuena para refrescarse.
And some drinks with a little alcohol and some mint leaves to cool down.
A partir de aquí es ponerse a segar el césped, quitar malas hierbas, sujetar alguna planta y disfrutar de las flores y de su fragancia.
From here on, it's a matter of mowing the lawn, removing weeds, holding a plant and enjoying the flowers and their fragrance.
