Saturday morning and I slept in past 10am for the first time in several weeks. When we finally got out of bed, it was already time for lunch. I decided to take
to Gonzoburger for her first experience there. We shared a couple of giant pretzels and each got a tasty burger.
was especially a fan of their onion rings.
Once we departed the restaurant, we walked around Elk City a bit. Elk City is a small district in Charleston, WV that is filled with all sorts of new businesses. Along with that comes a lot of art. Right next to where I was parked were four different butterflies and a peacock chalk drawing. I took photos of at each set of butterfly wings and then we both posed in front of the peacock feathers.
After we finished up there we walked down the block to an alleyway that had an image I had driven by hundreds of times. I had somehow never stopped to see it up close, come to find out, there were about six different artworks posted on the wall down this alley. We took photos at the two we liked best. I chose the deep sea diver, the one I had seen from the road often. was a fan of the witch and crow towards the end of the alley.
Lastly, we circled around the block again and ran into a huge wall mural. It was green and blue, my favorite colors. Of course I insisted on having my photos taken at this one before we drove back home.
We had a great time and the photographs turned out awesome. Afterwards had to go to work. Luckily Sunday we got to go on a big adventure. Stay tuned until later this week sometime when my blog for that comes out. It’ll be a surprise until then, but thrill seekers and nature lovers will enjoy it.
Take a look at the photos from Saturday in Elk City:
