After exploring Old Man’s Cave, and I hightailed it 17 miles north to Cantwell Cliffs.
Driving through the giant forest and it’s curvy roads was one of the best parts of this trip. They were fairly empty, despite there being so many people on the trails. This allowed me to push my Audi pretty hard and get my adrenaline pumping.
We were really hungry once we finally got to Cantwell Cliffs, but we only packed water and sugar-filled snacks. This led us to toughing it out with empty bellies during this hike. The elevation was somewhat strenuous, but nothing compared to our hike under the New River Gorge Bridge last month. We survived and even got to splash in a bit of mud.
By the time we finally finished this one, we both were done for the day and only had food on the mind. We found a tasty steakhouse to eat at on the way home. It was a satisfying meal, but shortly after we left realized she left her phone at the restaurant. Luckily we were only one exit away and when we got back to the establishment, they had her iPhone secured with the manager already.
I was happy we finally got to go to Hocking Hills together, but I have had a lot more fun in West Virginia on many separate occasions with . This makes me even more thankful to live in such an adventurous state.
Hopefully my blogs will encourage you to seek out a new place, either alone or with someone you are close with.
