I was going through some photos the other day and came across a few from my last walk at Big Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore county, Maryland.
This is the area of Gunpowder Falls that closed down right after this last walk there.
They aren't due to reopen until late Fall 2020 due to repairs on the bridge. You can see part of that bridge in my first photo. It had been raining and the rain had just stopped when we decided to stop and take a last walk there before it closed.
It was a very short walk as it was late in the afternoon and we found out that the trail was quite muddy from all of the rain.
The sun broke through the clouds and I looked up to see what looked liked sunny yellow Fall colors on the trees in the distance but it was actually the sun shining brightly on and through the trees or maybe even a bit of both!
It may have been short but it was nice also and the steps leading back up to the vehicle made up (in exercise) for the shortness of the walk.
I also spotted a couple of mushrooms, some red berries and some lovely mossy spots on my way up all of those steps. They made good excuses to stop (for a breather) and take photos. 😉
I was glad to finally make it to the top though!
It gave me a butterfly feeling inside to take one last look before we left and knowing that it would be a while before we could return. It was such a beautiful sight!
I forgot all about these photos as the walk was so short and they backed right up to another walk that I had taken. I'm happy I came across them though and get to share them with you today! 💞
Thank you for #wednesdaywalk!!
