Today is December 16th. Great Victory Day.
On this day in 1971, Bangladesh won a bloody nine-month war with Pakistan.
Originally started in 1952, the language movement later took the form of the independence movement.
On 21 February 1952, in the demand for state language Bengal, many language soldiers with fresh blood in their chests demanded that Bengal be made the state language.
In the Constitution of Pakistan, the proposal to make Bengali and Urdu the state languages was unanimously adopted.
Following the path of the state language movement, the autonomy movement in East Pakistan became stronger and the sense of independence among the people of this country became stronger.
Evidence that this consciousness became strong on the eve of 1971 is matched by the landslide victory of the Awami League in the 1970 general elections.
Unfortunately, the people of the entire country were able to wage an all-out armed struggle to establish an independent Bangladesh within nine months if a conspiracy was hatched to destroy this consciousness of the people.
On December 16, 1971.
That is why December 16 is the victory day of Bangladesh.
This Victory Day is celebrated all over Bangladesh with various arrangements.
On this day various government institutions and big buildings are decorated.
