Today, I want to share with you something that I've been thinking about for a while, I've been working on a method that I apply in my daily life, and with the new full moon coming ahead, I think it's just the right time to work on your chakras, if you're interested of course. π
Know that you need to have any experience with it, you don't even need to believe in it. It's not even something that you need to do every week, it can be done from time to time, a sort of a reset button, that will help balance your chakras.
If you aren't familiar with chakras, I could perhaps direct you to a beginner's guide to chakras as my method is more focused on how to practice, energize, recalibrate your 7 chakras, a different one every day.
Chakras are wheels of energy, vortexes, that breath in and out, it probably feels very abstract for certain, but each and one of them serve a purpose, and have an effect on your emotional, psychical, and physical well being.
For a long time, I've been thinking of practical ways to improve their alignments, and mindfully strengthen your connection to them.
If you follow this method, you will be able to focus on one chakra, per day, which might actually be easier to digest.
The order I picked them, is in relation to my own goals, and you can of course focus on which ever you feel more comfortable with.
Monday: The Heart Chakra
I like to start the week with this chakra, because working on your heart, is probably the best way to maintain your energy up, it will also help the energy flowing to other points, with an open heart & mind.
The heart chakra represents love, forgiveness, tranquility, joy.
If you're initiated in the art of meditation & visualization, you can start your day with a quick healing routine using breathing techniques, and mindfully focus on the love you feel deep in your heart, for others, for the people you love, for the people you don't mind, and even those that you hate, or the ones you don't even know.
If you want to go a bit further into the visualization, I like to focus my concentration, on imagining energy travelling through my body, coming from other points, and joining force into the heart charka, which emanate a bright green pulsation. After each breaths, the energy comes in and out of the heart chakra, each time recharging it.
Now for the most adventurous of my readers, you can also use hand gestures called mudras during meditation.
The one that I find particularly efficient for the heart chakra, it's the Anjali Mudra, which looks like two hands joined together, as if you were praying.
By joining your hands together, you are offering, and receiving all at once, which is a very sacred gesture, that's true LOVE.
The food that you should consume, that will benefit your heart chakra:
- Kale
- Broccoli
- Spinach
- Spirulina
- Cucumber
- Green beans,
- Peas
- Zucchinis
- Avocados
- Green tea
- Kiwi
You can consume them raw, in a smoothie, or cook them; it doesn't really matter.
That's for the practical aspect, but keep in mind that there is another way to actually work on that specific chakra: Be mindful, kind to people, thankful also, and with consistency throughout the day.
Remember that the next day, you will be focusing on a different energy point, serving a different purpose.
Tuesday: The Root Chakra
This is one important chakra, represented by the color red. Its level and intensity determine you position and hierarchy in the universe, the stronger it is, the more equipped you are to fight off assholes and cunts.
The root chakra is either located on the feet, or around the base of your spine.
Like we did on Monday, now we are focusing our energy around the spine, the feet, and connect with the ground, feeling anchored.
That red energy, which is what supports your soul into this world, is more or less intense, depending on people.
You don't need to come from a place of anger to fuel it, but more a place of self affirmation, and security.
Instead of meditating, I like to walk barefoot, in the grass π as it has the absolute same effect as sitting still and focusing on your energy point.
If you don't like the idea of walking barefoot in the grass, then you're a weirdo and I have nothing to say to you haha.
Ok I am the weird one, touchΓ©, if you prefer using a mudra, the one that will help you focus is the Muladhara mudra.
As you can see, it looks like a mooch of fingers, that's why I prefer just walking, and keep myself grounded.
The root chakra is connected to earth, to the soil, the rocks, and affects your survival instinct.
Let's talk about the food that will help you recharge your red chakra:
- High protein food (eggs, nuts, beans, tofu)
- Red meats
- Red Veggies and fruits (apples, red berries, tomatoes, beetroots, rhubarb, strawberries).
Wednesday: The Throat Chakra
There is a reason why blue is my favorite color, the throat chakra is responsible for your voice in this world, for your search for truth, and the way you are ready to perceive and listen to others.
Its blue color has healing properties, and well...Big shocker it's linked to singing too.
There is an interconnection between the blue chakra, and the sacral chakra (linked to your sexuality), and it's of course easy to understand why, as creativity is power by the sacral chakra.
As for recharging your blue thingy, well, there is an easy way to do so. Just sing!
The mudra used during meditation for this chakra often varies,
some do the Vishuddha mudra, or variation of it.
The food that will recharge your throat chakra:
- Blueberries, blackberries
- Elderberries tea
- Liquid food
- Water
Thursday: The Solar (plexus) Chakra
They call it the seat of the soul, the "City of Jewels". It's the chakra that will help you believe that you can, and that you are enough.
Self confidence, is key to manifesting your purpose in life, and that's why it's paired with the root chakra, as they both are linked to your willpower and motivation.
If you want a boost, and recharge your solar chakra, try self affirmation, and become your own coach. The mind, is a powerful tool, that can make or break you, you can decide that your factory of thought, will only focus on the positive, it's sometimes enough to spark the ignition, that will feed the fire.
What I like to do when meditating and visualize about my solar chakra, is to imagine a golden light beam, literally irradiating my soul with pure heat. One advice, don't think about golden showers.
As for the mudra, some people enjoy doing the Hakini mudra during meditation, I personally responds better to speaking to myself, for that very specific chakra. I am a talker π
If after all that chat, you're starving, here is your food if you wanna go solar:
- Bananas!
- Egg yolk
- Pineapple
- Yellow peppers
- Cider! YAy !
- Orange juice
- Golden leaves (it's a thing)
Friday: The Third Eye
I will probably make an entire post about the third eye, as it is for me, the most important chakra.
It's linked to your intuition, inspiration, your connection to god, your connection to others, your mood, your visions.
For the uninitiated, it's represented by the all seeing eye, the delta and the omicron, and linked to the pineal gland.
If you aren't familiar with this gland, I don't want to overflood you with too much info for this time around, but it's a photosensitive gland that regulates your circadian rhythm, is affected by the change of seasons, the moon cycles, the sun, it's an damn eye!
If you have been meditating for a while, I kid you not, you can literally feel the gland, the eye pulsing, and, if you are practicing enough, you can even "see" things.
I personally believe that it's the most misunderstood part of the brain, and probably responsible for countless misdiagnoses of bipolar disorders, borderline personality disorders, psychoses, witch hunts, and there is a reason for this.
The third eye, when harnessed correctly, is almost a superpower, that fuels your intuition, your gut feeling, your wisdom and your spiritual being.
If I am going too "wooh wooh" right now, go have a glass of water and come back in a minute. I'll wait for you here, I was supposed to do a 2 parts article, but decided to just get on with it haha.
The Ajna mudra looks pretty cool, it's a little bit Illuminati haha so if you aren't comfortable with doing the hand gesture, just think of a purple light breathing in and out of your third eye.
After a few minutes, if you're focused enough, you will start feeling a pinching sensation between the 2 eyebrows.
Let's talk about purple food:
- Eggplant
- Cacao
- Purple Kale
- Purple Kush π
- Blueberries
- Violets
As I said, I will probably make a post about it later, let's move on!
Put on your sexy dress, because now it's the...
Saturday: The Sacral Charkra
It's the one that makes you go horny. Hahaha ok that's not all, but that's pretty much it. Is it important?
Fucking very! You see, it even makes me swear, it's going to determine if you have a happy sex life.
I am joking, this has (almost) to do with energy, let me explain:
Sigmund Freud, that was a perv, said once:
In matters of sexuality we are at present, every one of us, ill or well, nothing but hypocrites.
Yeah Sigmund, you said it! You're all a bunch of hypocrites, I don't wanna know what you're doing on the weekend π, but what matters is that sexual energy, is the key to life.
In case you're wondering, I am doing my serious face, which means that I really mean it.
I guess it's another chakra that could make me talk a lot haha, but sacral energy, sensual energy, sexual energy, is what powers your body, what drives your soul, and is for me an infinite, unlimited source of power.
Once, I wrote a long winded comment here on HIVE about ancient Taoist tradition (that made me look like a crazy perv probably), that considered that the act of "love making", is basically a transfer of energy, and old men in China were coming up with ideas, to get laid with young ladies:
Women also helped men extend their lives. Many of the ancient texts were dedicated explanations of how a man could use sex to extend his own life but, his life was extended only through the absorption of the woman's vital energies (jing and qi). Some Taoists came to call the act of sex "the battle of stealing and strengthening".[20] These sexual methods could be correlated with Taoist military methods. Instead of storming the gates, the battle was a series of feints and maneuvers that would sap the enemy's resistance.[21] Fang described this battle as "the ideal was for a man to 'defeat' the 'enemy' in the sexual 'battle' by keeping himself under complete control so as not to emit semen, while at the same time exciting the woman until she reached orgasm and shed her Yin essence, which was then absorbed by the man.
"Why are you spending that much time on that section Ed?" you may ask, but this is important!
What I am trying to say, is that this chakra is a powerful tool, if you know what you're doing (wink wink).
I could talk much longer about sacral energy, sexual transmutation, and even something called "semen retention", which is the act of not jerking off everyday and even the benefit of not watching porn, but it's for another time, and I can see that I lost half of my audience already π, let's move on!
To recharge your sacral chakra, you can use the Yoni or Shakti mudra.
What food can boost your modjo? Let's see:
- Orange
- Unsaturated fats
- Salty food
- Moist food π€£ (this one I found it online)
- Ginger
- Sweet Potatoes
- Pumpkins
- Mangoes
- Carrots
- Pumpkins
- Omega 3 rich food (fish)
Sunday: The Crown Chakra
On the day when god rested, I thought it would be fitting to talk about the crown chakra.
It's the one connected to your spirituality, your clarity, wisdom, and the transcendence of your limitations. Often linked with the brain, the pituitary gland, endocrines gland (like the pineal gland), the crown chakra is situated at the top of your head, and often represented with a dark purple color, or a white light.
I guess the best way to recharge, rebalance your crown chakra, is to pray, and connect with nature, people.
It's often linked to prophetic thoughts, clairvoyance, and is the entry point to your life force, your Qi which pours into your body, and flow through each chakra.
There is a fun exercise that a yogi taught me, where you imagine a beam of white light coming from the sky, and descending upon you, energizing your body and soul. For each breath, you take in the positive, abundant, energy of gratitude and love, and expel all dark energy and thoughts you can imagine this light grey, or dark.
What's the best food for your crown chakra?
- No food π! It's been discussed many times, that fasting, can help cleanse your energy, and boost your crown chakra.
- Water
- Figs
- Sun
Also remember than a strong mind performs better in a strong body, so exercising daily, is as important as what has been discussed in this post!
Jeez, that was a long one!
Ed out!
