Hello Hive!
I am Eliza-Anne, but most of the people close to me just call me Eliza or Eli. Double Barrel and double trouble as my folks always tell me, lolz!
I actually started sharing stuff here about two weeks ago and have a few posts up on my profile already. It was only about half way through that, I noticed some people on the platform introducing themselves with complete posts about it. I will be honest, I am not really big on being in the spotlight, I prefer to just exist in the background somewhere quietly going about my business lolz, so when and the “emotions and feelings” community (
) brought it up in a couple of my comments, I started to get the feeling that it was pretty custom practice around here and figured that I should probably get to it sooner rather than later. No point introducing myself to people after they have already gotten to know me for like six months I guess, ha!
So, here I am! Pretty much as my profile says… I am just a beach bum sharing my world. Ok, that is not entirely true I guess, I don't just sit around all day watching waves roll on to the shore or tanning my butt cheeks, lolz!
I am, I suppose a little bit of a “jack of all trades and master of none”. I have never really settled on any one particular thing and by social standards am probably seen as a total failure or "lost cause" because I decided early on that “life” would be my education. Thankfully my folks have always been real good to me choosing a path which connected with me, rather than doing something which I hated every second of.
So... what do I do when I am not staring at the clouds, watching the moon or tanning my butt cheeks on the beach?! Lolz! I do a lot actually!
I do a little bit of freelance modeling and have done so for a few years now, but not enough to turn me into a prissy missy - only enough to give me a little bit of extra cash and mostly for smaller gigs which mostly fly under the radar which suits me just fine. The photo above is an oldie from a couple years back. It was a beach shoot (just my thing haha) for a summer lifestyle campaign.
I also do a lot of remote online work which involves a little creative layout, writing, editing and such. I am no pro, but I manage to get some decent side hustles doing stuff like that and have built up a lot of what I do with Fiverr. Mostly, I love to challenge myself, learn new things and because of that I suppose you could say that I have built quite a diverse skillset for an almost 30 year old, omgosh I am getting old, lolz! Naaah, I am a firm in the fact that age is but a number and I have plenty of those left to adventure through!
I spend a LOT of my time looking for ways to earn a living online because I value my freedom and I will do anything and everything to protect it. I don't EVER want to be stuck in a cubicle in an office, or operating on repeat from nine to five 365 days a year.
My folks gave me the kickstart of freedom by allowing me to have the choice of "who" I want to become, but it has always been up to me to not mess that up. A value and principle which I give a lot of weight. Sure, I follow my own path, but I do still want to make them both proud in some way or another you know?!
That was actually how I came to discover Hive. I began exploring crypto a couple of years ago (thanks to my dad) and mostly looked at ways I could get into it with airdrops and such. Over the last couple of years I have gathered a little bit of this and that. Not like I am going to be buying a beach mansion any time soon, but I am in love with the freedom of decentralization technology and even though most of the complicated stuff goes over my head completely, I do try and hang on to what I can understand.
Somewhere along the way (and more than once) Hive popped up in search results when looking for ways to earn crypto. I admit, I did not check it out the first, or probably even the second time - lolz, but I did... eventually, and now I am here, YAY!
My friends tell me I was born in the wrong era and that I should have been prancing around in woodstock with all the hippies, and maybe they are right. I do generally sway towards the simpler things in life and I keep my life pretty simple too, even though I guess you could say I live a simple life, in a modern way lolz!
I absolutely LOVE spending time at the beach and outdoors in general. I love to draw and paint stuff, but its mostly my own ridiculous doodles and abstracts which I do just for fun and to escape into my own little world. My mom is a writer and my dad a chef, so I suppose they are responsible for my insatiable love for reading, writing and eating! Ok… and cooking, but not always. Sometimes I go through really lazy stages!
This here photo is a prime example of me having one of those lazy days! That is packet egg noodles, a soft boiled egg, some finely grated cheddar and a little spice! It really doesnt get lazier than that for me, lolz! I also like to entertain/challenge myself by eating it all with chop sticks because life is too short not to laugh at yourself, lolz!
I am a borderline hoarder of all things vintage, weird and wonderful and my place resembles an arts and crafts fair. If I put price tags on my possessions, people would probably believe they were in fact at a market of some kind, lolz! But that is just me. I love things from yester-year and the history they hold. There is just a magical something about them.
I am not much of a socialite and I tend to stay away from crowds both online and offline.I enjoy spending time by myself, doing “whatever”. Not to say I don’t enjoy social occasions with family and friends, because I do. Those, to me, are quality moments, which is what I prefer I suppose.
I walk a LOT and travel too, but mostly locally. I guess you could say I try to live in the present as much as I can, which is why I always try to keep my life as simple as possible. Weird to share a photo of my flip flops? Probably, LOLZ! but if I am not barefoot, then these babies carry me around everywhere, although they are displaying signs of soon retirement, hehe! And when they do, they will be missed. I look at them and I dont just see a pair of shoes for me tootsies, they are symbolic of an entire slice of my journey here. They represent so many moments, adventures and emotions.
Well, now that I have officially discussed my feet with an entire space filled with (now) complete strangers (but hopefully soon friends), let me move on very, very swiftly, lolz!
Among the many things I love to do is reading. Sometimes, I think that perhaps my lack of desire to socially engage is because there is always a wonderful world awaiting me in a book. An adventure or romance a million miles away on some fantasy island where reality never comes knocking.
I write a lot, always have done and I have like a gazillion notebooks which are all filled with my random internal wanderings. Perhaps I will share some of those here along the way. Like I mentioned earlier I guess my moms influence has something to do with that. I would LOVE to write a book one day. About what?! Who knows! Time will tell I am sure.
As you have probably gathered, I spend most of my time alone and I think that was what eventually drew me to finally check out this hive space. I guess I have been looking for a space to share the little things (and maybe the big too) which happen in my life with people I can get to know at a pace which is comfortable for me. Not to feel forced into it, like you sometimes do in person... know what I mean?
Anyways, let's see how this adventure unfolds! It has been pretty awesome so far, except for that "cross post moment". I did a couple of cross posts, mostly because I was checking everything out and what what... but I did not read the rules of the community I cross posted into and did a double take when I was in trouble for that hehe. Live and learn yes?
I did get featured in a post by the curators because
shared my post with them I think. Thats how it works? Well, either way it was SUCH a cool surprise, so thanks so much for that!
I am really looking forward to meeting you all as I go along. I have already met some super awesome people. Always up for a new adventure and am loving this one so far!
Thanks for reading this and for looking at my flip flops lolz!

PS. I have had a look around at quite a few of the groups or communities but would love to know about more so maybe some of you can share some of the hidden gems?
PPS. I also see that so many of you have twitter references in a lot of the comments. I don't have twitter but it looks like a lot of you connect there???? Maybe you can give me a little insight? I don't mind creating a twitter account but have just never done it because I am a hermit, lolz.
PPPS. Thank you to for your introduction post guide. It helped a lot and also thanks to
for sharing it with me. I hope I did a good job!!!
