We visited Rufford Abbey Country Park in Nottinghamshire. In the grounds, there is a former 12 century Cistercian Monastery and country house.
We took a stroll around the lake to feed the birds. The lake was created in 1750 so the water could be used for the local corn mill. Today it is now the home for the wildlife.
There is plenty to see with walks through the wood and gardens.
The path around the lake is accessible to child buggies, cyclists and mobility scooters and nice and flat.
We called in at the cafe to warm up. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
