It's been quite hot today so we took a ride to the New Forest well known for its heathland, forest trails and native horses, ponies and donkeys. It covers parts of Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire. I only have a few days left before I head home so I wanted to make the most of it.
Sadly, there wasn't many ponies about. Most of them were taking shade under the trees from the hot sun.
After having a picnic near the river we decided to take the dog for a walk to find a nearby geocache.
Thankfully, it was only about 300 metres away. It was far too hot to walk far.
We navigated towards the geocache and found it quite easily behind a branch at the bottom of the tree trunk.
We signed and dated it and replaced it for the next finder.
The pooch had a celebratory swim in the river. A lot of it had dried up because of the hot weather.
We then returned to our picnic spot to soak up a bit more of the sun.
