We went on a circular walk on the Teversal Trail which is on disused railway lines between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It was quite crisp this morning with a bit of frost on the ground.
Someone had decorated this tree. I love it when walkers do this. It warms the cockles of my heart when someone does nice things.
We walked past an old coal mine called Pleasley Pit. A lot of the coal mines have been demolished around here, but thankfully, this has been turned into a museum to preserve it's history. It used to be a coal mining area so I'm really pleased they've saved it. The surrounding area is now also a nature reserve.
Monochrome was more fitting as it was quite ethereal watching these two swans swimming in the cold mist.
I think the snails near the trees were children's rides, although there was a lack of children today.
We spotted some cauliflower fungi. I very rarely see this. It looked like some kind of sea sponge from a distance.
The trail is a bit confusing at times! Even though it was cold it was still an enjoyable walk and very Christmassy.
