We woke up in Bozeman Montana to it starting to snow. When we drove in the prior night the wind was blowing hard and it was cold so it felt like snow was coming. We eventually made it out of the hotel and onto the road where we drove through snow for a couple of hours until we were well east of Billings. This was at a rest area and there was 4 to 6 inches of snow.
Hundreds of miles of this. The northern plains are a lot of this view. There is a reason the central part of the country is called the great plains.
In southwest North Dakota is Teddy Roosevelt park and Medora. It is in the most rugged part of the state where the rest is just rolling hills.
There is the painted canyon not far east of Medora and Teddy Roosevelt park has a bunch of trails and views. We just blasted on by though as we had miles to drive still.
Near Dickinson ND is the big metal sculpture with flying geese on it.
North Dakota roads are mostly like this, straight. Don't let the view fool you, it is cold
and windy as all get out. There is the storm system coming in so we will be getting snow which I already am seeing this morning.
We hit up a cousin near Bismark and after hanging for an hour we headed north to Minot. After 17 hours of travel time in the in the car we finally made it last night around 9pm. We then visited until way way too late.
Later today we are going to town to pick some things up then hang out here at the house for a good bit of time. ND is falling prey to the covid hysteria but nicely masking is more optional than a mandate. It is sooooo nice to see employees in places NOT wearing masks.
Honestly masks have ZERO to do with safety and EVERYTHING to do with compliance. If it was about safety then there would be a standard mask that EVERYONE wore. If it is about safety than why wasn't this being done for all the flu seasons that have proved themselves JUST AS DEADLY as covid? The ignorance being bread into people is truly astonishing. So many can't think for themselves anymore and just live in fear. Such a sad existence to live in a constant state of fear.
