Good morning everyone,
This morning I want to share with us my latest work. This bags are ordered for by my customers, one want black and the other red. So yesterday I created the bags and I'm happy they turned out well. This is not a new design, it's part of my previous collection just that I didn't have those colors on ground and that why I had to make them yesterday. The bag is not complex to make and if you follow my tutorial post, you can recreate this at home if you wish.
THE MATERIALS USED INCLUDE:
- Leather of choice
- Soft fibre
- Pelican paper
- Bottom pins
- Tagging pins
- Magnet
- Suade lining
- Soft black leather
- Gum
- Small gas pipe
- Strong bag glue
- Puncher
- Hammer
PROCESS
- The first thing I always do is to mark out the pattern on the Fibre and leathers respective, after that I cut them out and gum them together. For the sides, I use Soft black leather insides of fibre. This is because the sides need to be flexible for sowing sake and also not to make it too boxy.
- Next I cut two holes 1 inch from the sides at the top part of the main body of the bag using puncher and hammer, then I fixed in the rope made from leather and gas pipe, next I gummed the rope to the Fibre using a strong glue.
- Next I sew the longer ropes and fixed it to the sides 1.5 inches down using a Tagging pin. Then I sew the lining with the capped pelican paper and leather which will serve as lining for the upper side of the bag. After that I fixed in the bottom pins and magnet then I gumed the linings with the bag.
- Finally I sew the sides with the main body of the bag.
