Good morning everyone,
I'm excited to share with you my latest bag creation and I call it "Nzuri" meaning "lovely" in Swahili. I created this bag yesterday and it's a maxi size bag which is spacious and it's so classy too. What makes this one different from my past design is the fact that I create a detachable handmade tag for the bag. Someone brought it to my attention that the paper tag can easily remove, therefore I should create a signature tag for my bag which can't easily remove like the paper tag. Thereafter I thought about what I could do and since I can't afford an iron tag yet, I made one using maco, fibre and paper and it turned out well more than I imagined. Though I believe subsequently it'll look more cooler.
Also I made a Tassle to adorn the bag as seen in the pictjre above. The short handle to are not on same level which is another form of design and the bag leather is stitched to the other part in contrary to my previous design. I decided to make these upgrade for my bags. I want something different and unique and I know I'm working towards that place.
The materials I used inckude:
- Oketex fibre
- Chi board
- Synthetic leather
- Zip
- Zip head
- Suade lining
- Bottom pin
- Leather glue
- Gum
- D ring
- Bag anchor
- PROCESS
- The first thing I did was to create the bag pattern using a chipboard. After that, I marked it on the Fibre and leather of choice, cut and gum them together.
- Before I gummed the leather with the Fibre I sew the bottom together a seen below.
- Also I fixed the D rings to the sides and bottom pin to the base of the bag.
- Next I sew the inner zip to the lining.
- Then I sew the short handle at one side and sew it with the bag as seen bellow. On the shorter one I sew a D ring to it so it will hold the detachable logo and the tassel.
- Finally, I sew the zip with the lining and bag at one side, gum it with the bag and sew the other side of the zip. After that, sew the sides with the bag.
- Here I fixed the zip head and create the detachable logo with the tassel.
