Hello guys, I'm so sorry it's been a while - I was off on a web project, so I didn't get much of the chance to be on hive often. But I'm fully back now and I thought I should share what I do at leisure with you. Although, I would have shared my project's progress screen and output with you, but I guess I'll just have to leave that for later. Here's the thing, I do web, I do data science, and I farm too.
Nothing gives me joy than seeing the nature that life has permitted me to groom bloom right before me.
So I decided to plant some maize in mid June and there they're, greening, greeting and as pure as God has decorated them. The farm is sectioned, just behind the maize farm is a cassava plantation that has stayed for up to 7 months in the soil (3 months to harvest).
That maize right there is a 90-day brown corn and for the record, its maize season in Nigeria - so I thought I shouldn't be left out of the maize festival too. Besides, for me nothing is as good as getting some soft roasted maize for lunch and you'll be doing yourself a lot of good with a fresh cut. For some folks here, the aroma of fresh corn turns on their craving and if they're far away from it, it gives them some nostalgia. You can simply get addicted, don't get it twisted.
And right up there is my fatigued face after some work around on the farm.
Well, as it seems, mine is not a mechanized farm and to be honest, I didn't do most of the works on the farm all by myself - I had to hire some labour. I needed some folks with cultivation and weeding energy to help get the jobs done while I offer my expertise with the little cash I could provide.
Finally, what's a corn without a coal fire - useless huh? I'm looking forward to sharing the roasting process with you soon as soon as I get some corns of the ridge. Yummy!
