That's right! One of the two swimming pools in our community is open, and has been open, until it was vandalized. Then it was shut down again, but only for a while.
Now once again it's open and so today we went for a swim. We didn't stay for long because we lagged on getting over there.
Procrastination paid off in the form of us being almost the only ones there. Another lady was sitting in the corner (can't sit at any of the tables) and her little girl was swimming in the pool.
The Misses Waded In First
I was the last one to enter the water but my wife didn't waste any time. She was in even before little Logan, who usually charges the water head on.
"How is it?" I asked.
"It's nice!" She said. "You need to come on in". She said.
So I did and it was cold....but not too bad. If the water were a couple degrees hotter, submersion would have been painless. As it was, I pretty much got right out.
Shade covered the pool area and the air was actually colder than the water. It was nice, but I quickly dried, wrapped a towel around my waist, and got back in the sunshine.
Logan Is A Water Boy
No, he doesn't make sure the football team is well hydrated. Haha. You know what I mean....he loves the water. Logan (our youngest) learned to swim several years back and fell in love with the water immediately.
Autistic children are often calmed by the weightless sensation of being submerged in water. He loves baths, adores the beach, and can't get enough of any swimming pool.
Open With Restrictions
Though the pool is open, the HOA has implemented a strict social distancing policy. As I mentioned, there's no using the picnic benches. Several sanitation stations are set up inside the gated area.
Had there been a couple more families enjoying the facility, we may have had to wait to go in. Lucky for us, that was not the case. Yep, we did have to wear our masks to get past the security guard at the entrance and have our electronic pool card key for access.
Logan Messin' As It's Time To Leave
It was a short, albeit fun, trip to the pool today. Logan would have been complaining had we not gone and it was interesting to see how they have it set up.
He's supposed to be smiling for the camera but the best I could get was a fish face. Goggles are so him though. At least it didn't take him too long to get out of the water....this time.
Thanks for reading and as always...
