In this time of pandemic, some individuals are able to work at home, particularly those who do office works. Thus, the cash-ins may continue, but of course, businesses are at their lowest point, so salaries may had deductions. At least they can work in their homes, and earn some money for themselves and their families. Some industries are unable to support work at home due to the nature of work. Hence, the loss of jobs as lockdown was imposed.
Other people are freelancers who work at home even before the pandemic. I remember a post on Facebook by a freelancer about his experience of being belittled by others who do offline work, but was now asked how to earn online. That's the sad part when people judge you as jobless because you stay at home.
Coronavirus cases
As based from the data in less than 24 hours, the surge has been more than 200k of new cases. Now, the total is 11.398 million. The surge of fatalities is at the same rate, and the total is 533k. Amidst the surge of new cases is also the surge of recoveries now at 6.156 million. At least, it is an indication that the authorities are able to control the illness. As expected, United States remains with the most cases. The current number is 2.932 million, and that includes 132k deaths, and 878k recovered cases. Brazil has breached 1.6 million already. Recovery rate is still high, but the tally is not yet updated as it stands at 978k yet.
Philippines has reached a new peak of new cases in a single day with more than 2k. The current total is now at 44,254. Fatalities is now 1,297, which is considered with low movement. Recoveries is now 11,942. That's fine, but lower compared to new cases each day. Active cases here in Pangasinan is 28, and overall total cases is 112.
Classes at Home
As classes are suspended when the quarantine has started, some of them has resumed, while summer classes are also available. Some of them has awarded some of their students virtually. It actually depends in schools because some of them has already changed their class from August.
Meanwhile, couldn't it be difficult for a student to attend classes 8am-5pm, five days a week, and the professor (instructor or teacher) is not teaching them, rather give modules without even teaching them, or rarely show up to teach in their online classes? That's one of the complains of my friend who just do self-learning by researching. Yes, those educators had salary deductions as they work in a private school, but they should still do their job well.
