Art was my first love and I say "was" because reading has been my passion since I was a little girl, then came music, then art (painting and sculpture) and nowadays photography and content creation.
Among all these passions is also recycling. That's why today I'm sharing with you a painting I made from a series I'm doing, whose canvas are hard covers of an encyclopedia that was going to be discarded.
Materials:
. Hard cover of a book
. cold paint (for ceramics) in any color.
. Brushes and paintbrushes
. Pen without ink
. Marker, chalk or graphite pencil .
. White glue
. Correction marker .
I decided to use the internal part of the book because it's texture is gonna be easy to work 'cause it's cartoon instead of the cover part that was made in leather.
Process:
We take the inner part of the book cover (from one book we get 2 canvases!) and give it 2 coats of paint in the color of our choice. The darker the base color, the less coats are needed.
Let it dry. We choose the drawing we want, in my case I decided for this super simple one. If you are not skilled in drawing, you can take a copy of vectors on sites like pinterest and trace them on the canvas with a pen without ink, which is what I did.
I always forget to post the final step wich is the glue application to finish_
