Hi, GEMS Community ๐ณ
Watercolor painting officially invaded my time haha. ๐ To be specific, free time. ๐It is addicting, or should I say relaxing and satisfying. โบ๏ธ
As I delved into watercolor painting, I discovered more of its art style. Particularly, I like the anime and Korean styles... Like those retro colors and saturated ones.
Realism is not my style, same as digital. Maybe because of the influence of anime, that is why.
Though one day, I hope I find myself to explore the world of realism. ๐๐ป
For now, I am fascinated with architecture. House, cabins, convenience stores, and the a like. But I thought, those subjects require straight lines. Ahhhhโฆ these shaky hands wonโt do it. ๐ฅฒ
So, I went to Pinterest to look for an easier route.
To start, letโs go simple! ๐๐ป
Just some houses and bush. Sketching is my least favorite part because it is a slow process, messy, and boring! (For me). It also goes with digital arts.
The reference that I chose reflects a Korean-style vibe. Simple lines with vibrant colors.
I did the sketch and base color during the night; that is why you can see the reflection of the light from my lamp on the corner.
The drying part slowed down the process, so this watercolor painting took days to complete.
I used the wet-on-wet technique for the most part especially on the bushes and on the tiled roof. For the shadows, I let the paper dry first, and then applied a watery color.
Even though the process was slow, I like how my painting turned out!๐กโจ
Thanks for reading! ๐คฉ
That is it for this art blog. I will see you at the next one!
