Supe que era un niño raro en el año 1997. Estaba dibujando un cerebro en una pequeña libreta que pertenecía a una chica más grande. Entonces ella me dijo: "No es normal que un niño de tu edad dibuje con tanto detalle y que recuerde el nombre de cada parte del cerebro". "Ah, ¿no?" Me contesté internamente. En adelante, latió en mí una creencia profunda, pero que fue casi indetectable durante años: soy diferente.
Lo que yo no sabía es que las personas diferentes debemos pagar un alto costo para permanecer en medio de la manada, sin ser pisoteados y desechados La historia ha demostrado que aquellos quienes se atreven a pensar distinto son, en primera instancia, rechazados por todos.
found out I was a weird kid in 1997. I was drawing a brain in a little notebook that belonged to an older girl. Then she said to me: "It is not normal for a child your age to draw with such detail and to remember the name of each part of the brain." "Oh no?" I answered myself internally. From then on, a deep belief beat in me, but one that was almost undetectable for years: I am different.
What I did not know is that different people must pay a high cost to stay in the middle of the herd, without being trampled and thrown away. History has shown that those who dare to think differently are, in the first instance, rejected by everyone.
Empecé a tocar instrumentos musicales desde los siete años de edad. La batería, especialmente. Es decir, era un chico sensible al Arte. Pero no por ser particular me permití ser víctima de bullying o algo por el estilo; al contrario, estaba muy despierto, era competitivo y me gustaba destacar.Pero mi familia era pobre y yo no comprendía aún lo que nos diferenciaba del resto; mis limitaciones y lo mucho que tendría que luchar para convertirme en lo que soñaba. Así que las dificultades aparecieron más pronto que tarde: no podía tener instrumentos musicales y estudiaba en un bachillerato musical. Entonces me las arreglé para mantenerme cerca de la música, y estuve procurando esto, hasta que entré a la Universidad.
I started playing musical instruments from the seven years old. The drum, especially. I mean, I was a boy sensitive to Art. But not because I was particular I allowed myself to be a victim of bullying or something like that; on the contrary, I was very alert, competitive and I liked to stand out.But my family was poor and I still didn't understand what differentiated us from the rest; my limitations and how much I should have to fight to become what I dreamed of. So the difficulties appeared sooner rather than later: he could not have musical instruments and was studying in a musical baccalaureate. So I managed to stay close to music, and I was trying this, until I entered the University.
Mi padre tenía una guitarra y yo la llevaba a todas partes. Fue entonces, que en el pasillo de Comunicación Social (carrera que yo estudiaba) conocí a un buen amigo, que me invitó a hacer parte de su banda. ¡Y lo hizo en un momento terrible!

Lo más curioso de todo esto, es que no pudimos agendar ensayos en el estudio, pues todo era muy precipitado; por lo que nos aventuramos a tocar juntos confiando en que todo saldría bien y habiendo ensayado cada uno por su cuenta. Aquí una foto de ese día:
The most curious thing about all this is that we could not schedule rehearsals in the studio, because everything was very hasty; so we ventured to play together trusting that everything would turn out well and having each rehearsed on their own. Here is a photo of that day:
¿Que cómo salió? Bueh... Sobrevivimos, no nos apedrearon. La verdad es que no fue tan malo. Los años de experiencia en la música nos habían servido mucho. Así empezó esa experiencia que ha durado hasta el día de hoy: mi banda: Chica Parrilla, con la que hicimos este EP, que es una sesión grabada en vivo: (Ahí encontrarás otro EP realizado también en una sesión grabada en vivo)
How did it come out? Well ... we survived, we were not stoned. The truth is, it wasn't that bad. Years of experience in music have served us well. Ya entraba en los veinte años de edad y sabía que cada decisión sería determinante en mi futuro. Sin garantías económicas, me mudé a la Capital del País, Caracas, y trabajé como cocinero, hasta que pude dedicar algo de tiempo a un negocio propio. Gracias a un pequeño préstamo dejé para siempre los trabajos corrientes y emprendí esa nueva aventura. Debido a que mi madre siempre había sido fabricante de ropa masculina, desarrollé gusto por la moda e incursioné en el diseño de indumentaria masculina.
I was already in my early twenties and knew that every decision would be decisive in my future. Without financial guarantees, I moved to the Capital of the Country, Caracas, and worked as a cook, until I was able to dedicate some time to my own business. Thanks to a small loan, I quit my regular jobs forever and started this new adventure. Because my mother had always been a manufacturer of menswear, I developed a passion for fashion and dabbled in menswear design.

Pero quería dedicarme al arte; necesitaba dedicar tiempo a la creación; así que me junté nuevamente con el director de Chica Parrilla y decidimos terminar de grabar nuestro disco, y lo publicamos este año (2020).

Como nuestro país, Venezuela, entró en crisis, mis compañeros tuvieron que irse del país. Yo no quería hacerlo. Todavía necesitaba cumplir con un sueño que había tenido desde niño: ser actor de teatro y cine. Habiendo estudiado Comunicación Social y, más tarde, unos años en la carrera de Música, en la Universidad de las Artes, era momento de incursionar en el mundo de la actuación. Así que ingresé al Taller Nacional de Teatro, de la Fundación Rajatabla. Una de las más legendarias instituciones de este arte en el país. Allí tuve mis primeras nociones sobre teatro.
As our country, Venezuela, went into crisis, my colleagues had to leave the country. I did not want to do it. I still needed to fulfill a dream I had had since I was a child: to be a theater and film actor. Having studied Social Communication and, later, a few years in the career of Music, at the University of the Arts, it was time to venture into the world of acting. So I entered the National Theater Workshop of the Rajatabla Foundation. One of the most legendary institutions of this art in the country. There I had my first notions about theater.
Pero no estaba conforme. Quería profundizar en las técnicas de la actuación, así que hice una audición en El Centro de Formación e Investigación Actoral - Centro TET, y fui aceptado. Esta fue una de las experiencias más maravillosas de mi vida. Supe lo que es actuar y gané la seguridad para pisar un escenario y personificar, convertirme en otro por momentos y llevar al público esa profunda experiencia.
But I was not satisfied. I wanted to delve into acting techniques, so I auditioned at The Actoral Training and Research Center - TET Center, and I was accepted. This was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I knew what it is to act and I gained the confidence to step on a stage and impersonate, become another at times and bring that profound experience to the public.

Quizá te preguntes ¿y qué de la escritura? Bueno, recuerdo haber escrito siempre. Leí desde muy chico y mi necesidad de escribir mi propia forma de ver el mundo afloró pronto. En la adolescencia empecé a escribir cuentos y no he dejado de hacerlo al día de hoy. Ya había nacido mi interés por la poesía, cuando tenía once años y me encontré con un hermoso poema de Octavio Paz, llamado Más allá del amor. Aquel mundo de posibilidades, de universos sin límites me hizo constatar que sí existían otras verdades, otras formas de concebir la realidad.
De mi trabajo poético, compilé mis mejores textos para un libro inédito al que llamé Poesía Básica y actualmente trabajo en otro, cuyo título... Ya vendrá. Mis cuentos todavía luchan por encontrar una voz, pero no paro de escribir. No puedo hacerlo. Ya tendré tiempo de conocer sus opiniones, en la medida que les comparta mis relatos.

You may be wondering what about writing? Well, I remember always writing. I read from a very young age and my need to write my own way of seeing the world soon surfaced. In adolescence I began to write stories and I have not stopped to this day. My interest in poetry was already born, when I was eleven years old and I came across a beautiful poem by Octavio Paz, called "Beyond Love." That world of possibilities, of universes without limits, made me realize that there were other truths, other ways of conceiving reality.
From my poetic work, I compiled my best texts for an unpublished book that I called "Basic Poetry"; and I am currently working on another, whose title ... It will come. My stories still struggle to find a voice, but I can't stop writing. I can not do it. I will have time to know your opinions, as I share my stories.

Para sobrevivir, tuve que estudiar Marketing y se me dió la oportunidad de trabajar como guionista, director y editor de contenidos audiovisuales; Content Manager, Director de Arte y, por último, Copywriter.
