Si de redes sociales y plataformas digitales hablamos, Reddit es la que más consumo, aunque creo contenidos para Hive es más común verme estudiando, debatiendo y leyendo contenidos en aquella plataforma.
Me gusta comparar Hive Blog con Reddit, más allá de la cadena de bloques y la moneda, ambas plataformas deberían funcionar de la misma manera, creamos contenidos sobre infinidad de temas, creamos comunidad, interactuamos con otros, personas valoran tu contenido, valoras el contenido de otros, te ríes, te enfadas y en resumen, le das uso a internet.
Hay diferencias entre ambas plataformas, comenzando con los más de 320 millones de usuarios registrados en aquella y más de 100.000 comunidades, gran diferencia a lo que podemos encontrar actualmente en Hive; Yo en Reddit consumo 8 Comunidades asiduamente, entre las que están Carpintería, Pixel-Art, diseño gráfico y otras de otros hobbies.
Otro punto a destacar es que a pesar de que puedes encontrar Reddit en múltiples idiomas y lenguajes, es una plataforma mayoritariamente angloparlante, lo que me ha obligado a mejorar mi inglés, entender slang y relacionarme con otras personas, cosa que no pasa en Hive donde los hispanos estamos con hispanos, anglos con anglos, rusos con rusos y ¿Se entiende el punto?

Antes de continuar quiero dejar algo en claro, bajo ninguna circunstancia quiero que todo el que lea esto se vaya corriendo a Reddit y abandone Hive, por el contrario, sigo creando contenido para Hive porque me gustaría consumir aquí lo que consumo allá, porque me gustaría en un futuro que en vez de conseguir Karma (Reputación en Hive) por mi contenido, recibir votos en esta plataforma.
Yo veo a HIVE con la capacidad de alcanzar en su momento a Reddit y seguir creciendo hasta el infinito, ¿Hay muchos cambios por hacer en la plataforma?, como por ejemplo educar a las personas a divertirse y no hacer post tontos por dineros, generar interacción entre los usuarios y que los usuarios se sienten más cómodos.
Siempre me he preguntado, ¿Porque si Reddit está centralizada? ¿Porque si tiene censura? ¿Porque si hay tanta toxicidad? ¿Porque si no pagan por tu contenido?, la gente consume más Reddit que Hive... Algo estamos haciendo mal.

Pero, vamos a entrar en contexto; Como un artista del Pixel-Art y un fanático de este estilo artístico, r/Place es la comunidad de Reddit más maravillosa, inútil y divertida que conozco.
Se los voy a resumir brevemente, desde ayer 1ro de Abril Reddit libero un lienzo en Blanco de 1000 x 1000 Píxeles, en este lienzo se pueden ubicar 1.000.0000 de cuadrados de colores, y cada usuario solo por estar registrado en Reddit puede colocar un cuadro de color cada 5 minutos. ¿Se entiende?, una hoja enorme, cada persona coloca un puntito cada 5 minutos.
Lo gracioso de r/place es que aunque parezca sencillo dibujar algo, puedes pasar horas intentándolo, colocando un cuadro a la vez y esperando tu tiempo, rogando porque otro usuario no ocupe tu espacio en el lienzo y o dibuje sobre tu obra.
Es así como las comunidades de Reddit pasan a formar una parte increíble de r/place, ya que es el momento donde los usuarios se organizan, deciden en que parte del lienzo van a dibujar, que van a dibujar, a que hora comenzaran y logran cosas increíbles como logos, ilustraciones y la bandera de sus naciones.
Todas esas imágenes que ves adornando este post, son hechas puntito a puntito, no por un usuario sino por miles, colaborando entre sí para perder su tiempo juntos, para hacer guerras virtuales con otra comunidad, para hacerse publicidad, para plantar su bandera y para mostrar lo fuertes que son juntos.
But, come on, let's get into context; As a Pixel-Art artist and a fan of this artistic style, r/Place is the most wonderful, useless and fun Reddit community I know.
I will explain it briefly, from yesterday April 1st Reddit released a white canvas of 1000 x 1000 pixels, in this canvas can be placed 1.000.0000 colored squares, and each user just for being registered on the Reddit can place a color square every 5 minutes. Do you understand?, a huge page, each person places a dot every 5 minutes.
The funny thing about r/place is that although it seems easy to draw anything, you can spend hours trying, placing a square one at a time and waiting for your time, praying that another user does not occupy your space on the canvas and or draw on your work.
This is how Reddit communities become an incredible part of r/place, since it's the moment where users organize themselves, decide where on the canvas they are going to draw, what they are going to draw, what time they are going to start and achieve incredible things like logos, illustrations and the flag of their nations.
All those images you see in this post, are made dot by dot, not by one user alone but by thousands, collaborating with each other to waste their time together, to make virtual wars with another community, to advertise themselves, to plant their flag and to show how strong they are together.
En 2017 la primera vez que abrieron r/Place como una broma de April's Fool, el proyecto duro 72 horas, luego fue cerrado y archivado. Pero la diversión y la interacción fue tal, que ante este cierre, cientos de comunidades decidieron alojar sus propios lienzos y dejarlos abiertos a ver que se generaba.
Esto me lleva a 2020 en Hive, donde con la creación de la comunidad de Pixel-Art (40% de los usuarios más activos también están en Reddit), tenía la visión de crear algo parecido para #Hive, el problema es que realmente no he tenido el tiempo para sentarme a estudiar programación, encontrar donde alojar el proyecto y demás, es un proyecto de hace muchos años, pero que no quiero dejar pasar.
Estoy seguro de que un espacio como este, podría no solo ser divertido para los usuarios actuales de nuestra plataforma, también lograrían atraer a cientos de comunidades a este espacio; Mi idea desde ayer era organizarme para colocar el logo de Hive y el nombre en algún lugar del Lienzo, pero se me ha hecho imposible al Hive tener una comunidad tan pequeña en aquella plataforma, sin contar el animadversión que le tienen algunos a todo aquello asociado a criptomonedas.
