I do love my working trousers . It is their purpose to be comfortable I guess. But still I don’t feel like walking around with them everyday.
Even though they are comfortable and have a nice cut I don’t always feel like, appearing as I just walked out of a workshop... However, I would probably enjoy spending all my days in different workshops 😊
Therefor I decided to attack the most complicated subject when it comes to sewing: making trousers, from scratch, by copping the pattern of my working trousers. And recreate them with jeans-fabric.
I will change the style and some details though, for example leave the seam at the ankles open or have the sip at the back…
Thus, I am not a big fan of jeans, but I do like the idea of just owning one pair of jeans, that fits you perfectly, that you can wear to work or going out and that is comfortable enough to chill with. That’s pretty big expectations on a piece of clothing, I know.
However, I like to keep my wardrobe as minimal as possible and instead have garments that can be useful in different occasions and fit variant styles.
Also, I have to say that it inspires me more to own fewer pieces, and instead I really like them. So, in a way I know that whatever I choose to wear I am going to feel good in it.
Having that said, my expectations to my sewing project are super high, making myself that perfect pair of jeans. Will I manage or not, I don’t know. But so far let me give you some insights in the process.
At the same time I also started to try out new ways of documenting my workprocess.. It is a lot more fun to me, to take photos of details or with different perspectives or angles. Especially since it is not a tutorial I want to write (yet), I wanted to include more details in the photos. What do you think about it as a reader? Are the detailed shots more interesting or would you prefere to get more of an overview of the work? (I would love to hear your feedback on that matter)
And finally I have the pieces, two legs, four pieces of fabric.
...and the leftover material where I will have to see if I can manage to use them up for some added details like pockets or so.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great week and see you around!! Cheers :)
