Historia
El arte se remonta desde la existencia del hombre.
La definición de “arte” (cuya traducción expresa la palabra “técnica”) no es un sencillo término de explicar, como expresa Pazos-López (2014), las consideraciones que toman suelen ser subjetivas y cambiantes a lo largo de la historia.
Señala el mismo autor algunas características relacionadas al arte son: de tipo intrínsecas al sujeto, con intencionalidad sobre los sentimientos o ideas y la necesidad de expresarlos.
El arte representa una forma innovadora de salir de los parámetros tradicionales, donde la perfección radica en encontrar la creación artística propia del artista y permitir al espectador una experiencia artística, cuyos límites se encuentra en la mente de los individuos.

Arte para la psicología
Para el psicoanálisis el arte representaba un impulso de búsqueda de satisfacción; inventores del trabajo con ilusión óptica donde se proyectaban realidades cuyo fin es su apariencia; y un medio de expresión del inconsciente colectivo (Marty, 1997).
Para Freud, el arte era un camino directo al inconsciente.
Para Jung, proponía que el inconsciente era una fuente inagotable de creatividad.
En la perspectiva sociocultural de Vygotsky, llega a la conclusión que el arte es un reflejo de las transformaciones inconscientes (polo expresivo) en manifestaciones conductuales que poseen carga emocional y cultural (polo receptivo) (Marty, 1997).
Luego de que Vygotsky haya planteado y aperturado un nuevo enfoque sobre la psicología del arte, otros autores continuaron desarrollando teorías para ampliar el conocimiento del contenido emocional sobre la realidad artística.
Art for psychology
For psychoanalysis art represented an impulse to seek satisfaction; inventors of optical illusion work where realities were projected whose purpose is their appearance; and a means of expression of the collective unconscious (Marty, 1997).
For Freud, art was a direct path to the unconscious.
For Jung, he proposed that the unconscious was an inexhaustible source of creativity.

Concluyen que es un área interdisciplinar cuyo objetivo principal es analizar la creación artística, además de su apreciación e influencia en la mente humana. Cuyo análisis se encuentra en tres características (Marty, 1997; Pazos-López, 2014; González, 2008):
● La perspectiva del creador, centrándose en la capacidad del artista como genio o en la problemática psíquica de la producción artística.
● La perspectiva de la obra o del producto del arte.
● La perspectiva del espectador, como receptor de la experiencia estética y su aportación a la interpretación del arte.
Psychology of art
They conclude that it is an interdisciplinary area whose main objective is to analyze artistic creation, in addition to its appreciation and influence on the human mind. Whose analysis is found in three characteristics (Marty, 1997; Pazos-López, 2014; González, 2008):
