Hoy me uno a la iniciativa de
que consiste en colocar 3 fotos y contar su historia.
Today I join the
initiative which consists of posting 3 photos and telling their story.
The photos I present below were taken in the year 2020, and it was the last "normal" week I had before the confinement began due to the pandemic of covid-19 and when I say normal I mean that it was the last week I was free, without wearing a mask, giving a hug freely and enjoying such simple but necessary moments.
These are photos that remain in my memory and I hope to keep them for a long time, to remember and keep in mind that life can change unexpectedly from one moment to another and that teaches us to value every minute of our life, enjoy it and take advantage of every opportunity that comes our way.
They are also a reminder of the Fitness Games or better known fitgames and in the year 2020 were held in the city of Maturin, Monagas state, Venezuela and are games that are inclined in a combined series of different disciplines called Crossfit.
Although my participation in this event was not as an athlete I had the opportunity to work with a team from Caracas, that week specifically I was in charge of the logistics of food along with my best friend we prepared all the meals for 9 people for a week of a menu meticulously prepared by my dear friend the sports nutritionist Silvana Aron and that was also consulted with the athletes for whom we worked who were also professionals in sports nutrition.
The fitgames was a great experience for me, I had only seen these crossfit competitions on TV and living it was too much fun, and it was also the last elite sport activity I attended before the pandemic.
It was four days of work and fun because even though I spent the whole morning working to have my meals on time, I knew that in the afternoon I was only going to enjoy each of the competitions that took place in the mobile arena that was placed in San Miguel Country Club.
At the beginning of 2020 we were all clear and we knew the existence and how deadly the virus was, but the truth is that it never crossed my mind to face all this situation, but on Saturday March 14, 2020 when we went to enjoy the event we found the arena practically militarized, and with radio announcements that communicated that the border states of Venezuela had been quarantined, and all sporting events and those that symbolize the agglomeration of people were suspended by the threat of covid-19, and well after this we already know that on Monday 16 all of Venezuela entered into absolute quarantine.
Already after knowing that most of the activities were suspended we went to a super market in the city of Maturin anticipating a possible chaos, because we thought that people would panic and would go out to make nervous purchases, and we took advantage and bought alcohol and personal hygiene products and for the cleaning of the house, and of course food, from that day I start my radical quarantine, which later would become flexible, then slightly flexible, again in radical, 7 by 7 (laughs) Venezuelans understand (laughs).
