The Ruby Ring
In a strange time, when the leaves of the trees turned blue instead of green, and the salmon swam upstream, in a small town in a far away country lived a humble, simple, and hard-working family.
When the last girl, Anneska, was born, the mother passed away, but before she died, she left her baby girl her only wealth, a very expensive ruby ring, that she could use on her wedding day.
Agustín, the father, and Rossanna, the eighteen-year-old older sister, were responsible for raising four younger children, including Anneska.
The years passed, the children grew up and the three eldest married and went to live on their farms and to procreate their own families, the father also passed away and they stayed in the paternal house Rossana and Anneska. The latter was very beautiful and would soon come of age.
One day Anneska met the man of her dreams and decided to get married. But, looking for the ring that her mother bequeathed to her to wear on that special occasion, she did not find it.
They had a sibling meeting to discuss the issue, but none seemed to know anything about the ring.
Anneska celebrated her nuptials without her mother's gift, and Rossanna was left alone at the parents' house.
At that time an unknown plague spread through the distant country and Rossanna fell into bed with that terrible evil.
The doctor advised the four brothers to take the patient to a hospital in the nearest city, but they did not have enough money for the transfer or for the medicines.
Rossanna felt fear and called her brothers, and between tears she confessed that her life had not been easy, that she suffered a lot, because she could never marry because of the commitment to take care of the family. That great and unwanted responsibility was creating resentments in her young heart, for what she had hidden the ring, so that Anneska did not have it at the right time.
The gathered brothers felt compassion for their older sister, who had always cared for and protected them.
Rossanna returned the ring to Anneska, and apologized for that selfish act that did not allow her to enjoy the memory of her mother inherited at birth.
Anneska, a young woman very mature for her age, soon found who could buy the stunning ring for a large sum of money and made it available to all her brothers.
Quickly, they made all the arrangements to take Rossanna, who had raised them with so much love, to the best hospital they found, they contacted the best doctors and did everything possible to heal her, but, unfortunately, her illness was very advanced and she did not they were able to save her.
The four brothers returned to town very saddened by the disastrous event, but with great learning.
From that day on they joined together more than ever and swore to take into account the needs of all family members, so that the sad story of the sacrificed Rossanna was not repeated.

El Anillo de Rubí
En un extraño tiempo, cuando las hojas de los árboles se tornaron azules en vez de verdes, y los salmones nadaron a favor de la corriente, en un pequeño pueblo de un país muy lejano vivía una familia humilde, sencilla y trabajadora.
Al nacer la última niña, Anneska, la madre falleció, pero antes de morir le dejó a su bebita su única riqueza, un anillo de rubí muy costoso, que ella podría utilizar el día de su boda.
Agustín, el padre, y Rossanna, la hermana mayor, de dieciocho años, se encargaron de criar a cuatro niños menores, incluída Anneska.
Los años transcurrieron, los niños crecieron y los tres mayores se casaron y se fueron a vivir en sus granjas y a procrear sus propias familias, el padre también falleció y quedaron en la casa paterna Rossana y Anneska. Ésta última era muy hermosa y ya pronto cumpliría su mayoría de edad.
Un buen día, Anneska conoció al hombre de sus sueños y decidió contraer matrimonio. Pero, al buscar el anillo que le legó su madre para que usara en esa ocasión tan especial, no lo encontró.
Hicieron reunión de hermanos para tratar el tema, pero ninguno parecía saber nada sobre el anillo.
Anneska, celebró sus nupcias sin el obsequio de su madre, y Rossanna, quedó sola en la casa de los padres.
Para esa época se esparció por el lejano país una peste desconocida y Rossanna cayó en cama con aquel terrible mal.
El médico aconsejó a los cuatro hermanos llevar a la enferma a un hospital en la ciudad más cercana, pero no tenían dinero suficiente para el traslado ni para los medicamentos.
Rossanna sintió miedo y llamó a sus hermanos, y entre llantos, les confesó que su vida no había sido nada fácil, que sufría mucho, porque nunca pudo casarse por el compromiso de cuidar a la familia. Esa responsabilidad tan grande y no deseada fue creando resentimientos en su joven corazón, por lo que había escondido el anillo, para que Anneska no lo tuviera en el momento indicado.
Los hermanos reunidos sintieron compasión por su hermana mayor, quien los había cuidado y protegido siempre.
Rossanna le devolvió el anillo a Anneska, y se disculpó por aquel acto egoísta que no le permitió disfrutar del recuerdo de su madre le heredó al nacer.
Anneska, una joven muy madura para su edad, no tardó en encontrar quién comprara el impactante anillo por una gran suma de dinero y lo puso a disposición de todos sus hermanos.
Prestamente, hicieron todos los arreglos para llevar a Rossanna, quien los había criado con tanto amor, al mejor hospital que encontraron. Contactaron a los mejores médicos e hicieron todo lo posible por sanarla, pero, por desgracia, su mal estaba muy avanzado y no pudieron salvarla.
Los cuatro hermanos regresaron al pueblo muy acongojados por el nefasto acontecimiento, pero con un gran aprendizaje.
Desde aquel día se unieron más que nunca y juraron tomar en cuenta las necesidades de todos los miembros de la familia, para que no se repitiera la triste historia de la sacrificada Rossanna.
Éste, es el fin.
