In Katas Raj Temple complex there are some Hindu temples still in good condition. In these temples you can see many spiritual paintings which are dated back to 7th to 10th century AD. In these paintings they had used very bright and vibrant colors. These paintings had been decorated with beautiful borders, flowers and leaves. Different colors like Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Black had been merged beautifully with white color as a base. So on white base these all colors look more bright and classy.
In these pictures you can see different Hindu gods performing different feasts. Many animal Hindu gods like elephant god (Ganesha) had also been painted. It looks like a Mughal era court. Different people's faces had also been painted, they might had some importance in Hindu culture in that era.
They had also decorated ceilings and in center they had used sun shape which is sacred for Hindus as Surya. In these pictures they had also painted Kali Davi's pictures who is the Hindu goddess of death. Kali devei has several hands. In these pictures you can see Hanuman the monkey God.
As I am not an expert on these things so I have only given my thoughts about the paintings and I also like the art. If someone having any knowledge about the painting he can explain in comments. Sharing some more pictures from Katas Raj temples.
