The black bulbul is also known as the Himalayan black bulbul or Asian black bulbul. This is a passerine bird. The black bulbul's legs and bill are always rich orange-red. It is one of my most favorite birds to photograph. They are hard to find as they live in the deep thick forest of Margalla Hills, Islamabad. They are very photogenic and I always try to get some great shot. Sometimes I am lucky to get some closer encounter and also get some beautiful photographs.
One of my first bird's photograph is of Black Bulbul. I traveled two to three hours in Margalla Hills and then found this bird on a water stream. They were traveling on top of the tree and mostly were hidden in thick bushes. They were very noisy and were easily tracked from their voice. They were also very shy and did not like human presence.
Sometimes they are seen on the foothill of Margalla but still maintain distance from humans. They are very common in the Margalla hills. Sometimes they travel with Himalayan Bulbul and Red-vented bulbul.
