During my visit to Katas Raj Temples, Chakwal, I saw a group of temples on a high mountain. To reach them I climbed up many stairs. These temples called Satgraha temples, mean a group of seven ancient temples. In these temples one big temple is in the center and remaining six temple are around him. Some temple are small and two of them are very old and not in a good condition. On an information board people can read some history of these temples.
It is believed that these temples were built during 7th to 10th century AD and architectural style is similar to Kashmiri temples. Some temples were in good shape and were open for public. So people climbed up on the roof to have a view of all Katas Raj Temples complex.
I also visited the inside of temple but over all experience was not good. No light and very small place to walk, even stairs were very small. It was hard to find the path to went to the roof as many small chambers were there. They might be used in past for meditation and prayers. Stairs were beautifully decorated the only thing I remembered about the inside of temple.
Great place to visit but need some management like wall chalking must be prohibited, Some artificial lights or candles should lit inside the temple. As this is a religious place so treat it as like and make sure tourist behave like that.
