The wallcreeper is a small passerine bird found in fresh water streams on a high altitude. They are very beautiful birds and I always love to see them in wild. Their red color wings complement them beautifully. They are usually found in a stream hopping around or clinching on a stone wall.
To see this bird I drove into Magalla Hills and reached on the bank of a stream and then one to two kilometer walk. They are not shy but still they maintain a distance. While searching food under rocks they ignore you completely. Their flight is very quick so till now I am not able to capture their flying shot.
Mostly they are found in an open area like stream and on rocks near streams so its difficult to photograph them. As you are not able to find any hiding place or you are not able to chase them. To best strategy to photograph them is to mark their area and sit at some place and hope that they come close to you.
If you are lucky having long telephoto lens and also use some teleconverter then you are able to get some sharp shot. As I am not that much privileged so I try to guess the place and try to get closer. As I am using nikon D7000 with nikon 200-500 mm so if I am getting some good natural light then hope to get some sharp shoot.
But when I am in field for birding, getting sharp shot is not my target. My target is to see nature closely and enjoy the beauty around us. These birds look more beautiful when you observe them in their natural environment. Some times camera can not capture their natural beauty.
