The yellow-billed blue magpie or gold-billed magpie is a beautiful and colorful bird. The yellow-billed blue magpie is a passerine bird. This magpie is a big bird and falls in the crow and jay family. The specie is found in Subcontinent and especially in the lower Himalayas. They are regular visitors of Margalla hills, Islamabad.
They are very noisy and are mostly found in thick forest. They avoid the human presence and keep a distance. Their unique color combination makes them very attractive. Because of their bright color, anyone can track them from a distance. Mostly they travel on branches and hide in bushes.
Magpie is a busy bird and is always in search of food. This bird falls into the category of opportunist birds so they also eat other birds' chic too. So, many small birds try to avoid their presence. Mostly they have territorial fights.
In my every birding tour, I see this bird. Every time I try to photograph this bird as they are very photogenic. Many times they are also found hopping on land in search of food. One of my favorite birds to Photograph.
