Hello, dear community, friends I'm today I bring you a curious craft, thinking of children and their return to school. I started to organize my boxes where I have stored fabrics, threads, zippers, buttons, ribbons, among others, I came up with the great idea of making a nice school case for children to protect and safeguard their colors, pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners.
I confess that, although the product is very simple and beautiful, for me it was a challenge, I made mistakes as you can not imagine, because it is the first time I make a suitcase, but when we love what we do, we feel empowered and driven, that our hands along with our creativity can be productive.
Next, I will show you everything related to this job.

STEP BY STEP
CUTTING THE FABRIC WITH THE PATTERN
Fold the pattern until it measures 4 cm long x 23 cm wide, place it on the owl fabric and cut the front flap at the top, leaving one centimeter seam allowance on the sides and at the top and bottom.
Next, we fold the pattern until it measures 9 cm long x 23 cm wide, place it on the light blue denim, cut the front cover from the bottom, leaving a centimeter seam allowance on the sides and on the top and bottom.
Next, we fold the pattern to the 12.5cm long x 23 cm wide, place it on the dark blue jeans fabric and cut the back cover, leaving a centimeter of seam allowance on the sides and the top and bottom.
Finally, we stretch the pattern until we get it to its real size with its measures 23 wide x 23 long and we place it on the white lining fabric, of course leaving its centimeters of stitching in all its parts; sides, top and bottom.
GLUING EACH PIECE IN PLACE
Once the four parts are cut, we proceed to adjust with pins the owl fabric with the dark blue jean fabric and the dark blue jean fabric with the light blue jean fabric, and then sew it by machine with a straight seam. Once the fabric is sewn, we proceed to open the seams and iron them, and then cut the leftover fabric, so that we have a square shape of 23cm long x 23cm wide.
SEWING THE PROTECTIVE LINING OF THE CASE
Then we place the lining on top of the already glued covers, on the reverse side of the fabric, that is to say where the ironed seams are, we adjust with the pins, to pass with the machine straight stitching along the sides and the top and bottom of the fabric.
After passing straight stitching along the entire edge of the fabric, we pass over the straight stitching the zigzag to finish the embroidery, immediately cut the excess seam allowances to clean up the work.
PLACING THE ZIPPER ON THE CASE
We use the pins to adjust the zipper of the owl fabric and light blue jean fabric, after fastened we open it, so that both fabrics are separated, we pass it to the machine with straight seam, from there we turn the fabric and locate the horizontal seam of the owl fabric we fasten with pins, then we locate the horizontal seam of the light blue jean fabric we hold with pins, we make straight seam to close those sides.
