What are your guilty pleasures?
I suppose I have a lot of guilty pleasures. But if I were to name a few, that would be gaming and take away orders. Why do I mention these two as my guilty pleasures?
My Guilty pleasure
First, I am someone who wants to be productive all the time and achieve maximum productivity. I hate if my time is wasted on things that won’t help me advance in life. To me, gaming is only for short-term pleasure to get some extra dopamine shot. However, lately due my problems I resort to gaming as a form of my escapism. And, for someone who preaches about maximum productivity, it is shameful for me to admit it.
Normally, after I finished a game, I would feel extreme existential crisis. Why wouldn’t I play the real game of life? Real life game is much more interesting and hard. If we die, there’s no starting over or repeating the same situation. So, we all should make the best of it whilst also being extremely cautious.
Second, I am someone who tries to stay healthy and wants to know every ingredients that I eat. Hence why, take away order is against that ideal life. Who knows they added excessive preservatives? MSG, sugar, etc? But still, I find myself ordering take away at least five times in a week. It is shameful for me to admit it as I have tried uninstalling the app in the past and even wrote a post about it.
Lately, I am thinking once again to minimize my exposure to those app as it has some harmful effects, red: bankruptcy. I admit, it is very convenient and sometimes much cheaper to eat fancy meal. However, if done excessively, my pocket might as well cry to death.
Finally, in order tackling my guilty pleasure, I am currently challenging myself to spend only 5$/week. I have no idea how I will do it with my current habits but I will document how this self-development journey goes. If I can spend that much before, why can’t I also do it now?
