Greetings, Fellow Stone Admirers!
I have been, in recent weeks, sharing a piece or two on the collection of archaeological finds a certain museum in the town of Panagyurishte, Bulgaria, has to offer. A region that stood in the perimeter of the antique Hellenic culture and has since been included in the territories of three of the largest empires of old, The Roman, The Byzantine, The Ottoman.
The legacy stonework in photographs I am showing here is about two thousand years old. Plus or minus a few centuries, no biggie.
Without being quite familiar with the matter, I am letting you observe similarities and differences yourselves.
What do you make of these?
If you're interested in the topic, you might also want to check out my previous posts from that region that concern our ancient cultural legacy...

...and stuff.
I am trying to keep the articles mostly curiosity stimulating without revealing much for a couple of reasons. Because I am not about to become an expert in this any time soon and I am not a fan of simply telling what I read about the place unless it is a broader topic I feel comfortable with. Because you should still find something for yourself going there. Because I am more the visual kind of guy. Because I like to allow some room for anticipation, speculation, guessing...whatever you call it.
Peace and Stone!
Yours,
Manol
