Hi dear Hiver
After a lot of problems with our internet service, and after having a rest, I am finally posting this. This was on Wednesday. The Symphonic Choir, conducted by Prof. Luis Eduardo Jimenez attended three invitations to sing at two religious places and a Mall in Margarita (State of Nueva Esparta).
El Valle
This is the Basílica Menor of Nuestra Señora del Valle.
El Valle is a small town whose main touristic activity is the pilgrimage believers from all over the country make to visit the Virgin.
Around the church there are tons of street vendors selling all kinds of religious souvenirs
Here we sang the mass and some other songs: Jesus, our brother, four movements from the Misa Criolla (symphony), Alleluya, A ti te cantamos,Niño venturoso, Niño lindo, and "A ti, bella señora," and original song by Lino Rodríguez, one of our musicians.
After mass, we were invited by the priest to have lunch at the parish house.
Ratán Plaza Mall
After lunch we had an invitation to sing at a mall in La Asunción. Ironically, this is the capital of the State of Nueva Esparta, but it is not the main city (that would be Porlamar, which we did not have a chance to sightsee).
At the mall we sang: A ti, Bella Señora; Pastores Sagales; Niño Lindo; Niño Venturoso; A ti te cantamos; Corre Corre; and Ucranian Bells.
La Asunción
After the mall, we were taken to La Asunción Cathedral to sing at the night mass. La Asunción is where the local government is and also where important religious places are. People visit it msotly because of that.
The Cathedral is a very old building with a more classical decoration.
I'm afraid I do not have a good video to offer for you to watch. We were too busy singing and there was noone in the group in charge of recording. The masses were broadcasted live via Instagram but the feed was very bad and the video from that is not worth sharing. I am still trying to get a video from someone in the parish.
Sorry.
Thanks for stopping by! 💜
Stay true to yourself, always with a smile on your face
