Un gato abusivo color pardo
se sube a la mesa afanado,
se acerca a la comida sin reparo
y la observa con cuidado.
Le agradan las bananas
y toma una sin preguntar nada
pero es mía, no dejaré que se vaya
y al felino le digo que regrese a su casa.
A mischievous brown cat
climbs onto the table with glee,
approaches the food without hesitation
and examines it carefully.
He likes bananas
and takes one without asking
but it’s mine,I won’t let him get away with it
so I tell the cat to go home.
El animal se va
y llega hasta donde un cuaderno hay
toma un color amarillo que ahí está
y dibuja con gran habilidad.
Hace una banana bonita,
pequeña y bien amarilla,
se la lleva enseguida
y se pierde de mi vista.
The animal walks away
and goes to where there’s a notebook
picks up a yellow crayon lying there
and draws with great skill.
It draws a pretty banana,
small and bright yellow,
takes it right away
and disappears from my sight.
El gato abusivo color pardo,
regresa donde están los bananos,
deja el que ha dibujado
y se lleva el otro afanado.
Cuando descubro la situación,
el gato el banano ya se llevó,
un dibujo me dejó
y aunque es feo alegría me dió.
The mischievous brown cat,
returns to where the bananas are,
leaves the one he drew
and takes the other one away.
When I discover what’s happened,
the cat has already taken the banana,
he left me a drawing,
and even though it’s ugly, it made me happy.
