Una galleta sale del paquete,
rodando sola y de manera indiferente,
se estrella y esto la detiene,
contra un plato donde algo duerme
y su sueño se interrumpe abruptamente.
Se asoma una hoja larga,
intenta ver lo que pasa,
con cuidado baja
y con la galleta un rato habla
luego con fuerza lejos la manda.
A cookie rolls out of the package,
rolling on its own, indifferent,
it crashes and comes to a stop,
against a plate where something is sleeping
and its sleep is abruptly interrupted.
A long leaf peeks out,
trying to see what’s happening,
it carefully lowers itself
and chats with the cookie for a while,
then flings it forcefully away.
The cookie rolls away,
and the leaf rises to continue its rest,
but the cookie returns after a while,
damaged, missing a piece,
and crashes onto the plate again.
The leaf immediately comes down
and feels so sorry;
it didn’t want the cookie to get hurt,
so it picks it up in its arms and hugs it,
then carries it away.
He lifts her up to the very top,
and there they lose themselves for a while;
he left this matter behind,
and I sit down at the table carefully,
to have a long loaf of bread for lunch.
He took my spoon firmly,
and I cut the bread without hesitation;
what I didn’t expect was to see the cookie,
which the blade had carefully protected
inside the wrapped dough.
