This vegetable can be cultivated in different soils in March and April.There are many varieties of Kakrol in different areas of Bangladesh Different can be identified by the size,shape and color of the fruit and the characteristics of soft spines It is possible to get its yield in 90-100 days. Lalmai village,Fatikchhari upazila,Chittagong district (In this village,farmers cultivate crab as the main crop after paddy).On the other hand,Brahmanbaria and Comilla are one of the major manufacturing areas.Now farmers in different parts of Bangladesh have started cultivating some species from different places on their own initiative.A significant amount of Kakrol are exported from Bangladesh to the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
