How do you grow a mango tree?
Wie züchtet man einen Mangobaum?
First you have to remove the core from the mango and clean it with a brush. Then open the core carefully with a knife. Do not cut too deep or you'll damage the seed. Put the seed in damp paper towel and let the seed germinate in a bowl covered with plastic wrap or clear plastic lid so that the seed can get some sunlight in there too. Moisten that paper towel every few days. Then the seed should look like this.
Als erstes mußt Du den Kern aus der Mango entfernen und mit einer Bürste reinigen. Dann öffne den Kern vorsichtig mit einem Messer. Schneide nicht zu tief, damit Du den Samen nicht verletzt. Lege den Samen in feuchtes Küchenpapier und lasse den Samen in einer geschlossenen Plastikschale keimen. Alle paar Tage das Küchenpapier befeuchten. Dann sollte der Samen so aussehen.
Now you can plant the little plant in a pot or directly outside.
Nun kannst Du das kleine Pflänzchen einem Topf oder aber auch direkt im Freien einpflanzen.
After a few days, it should look like this. The leaves hanging down are completely normal.
Nach ein paar Tagen sollte es so aussehen. Das die Blätter runter hängen ist völlig normal.
So and now comes a long wait. It takes several years until the first flowers appear. Wish me a long life, so that I can reap the fruits of my work! ;)
I hope that my mango plant will grow into such a big tree.
So und nun kommt eine lange Wartezeit. Es dauert nämlich einige Jahre bis sich die ersten Blüten zeigen. Wünscht mir ein langes Leben, damit ich die Früchte meiner Arbeit auch ernten kann! ;) Ich hoffe, dass meine Mangopflanze zu so einem großen Baum wächst.
