What Did i Do Yesterday ? My Little Brother Finally Got Married & Corona Diary

Today is the 7nd of May, the 49th day of our stay at home with my family because of the Corona Virus.Today i am very happy.

Friends,I couldn't write the Corona Diary yesterday, but today I am writing in a more personal blog style.

Yesterday my little brother was finally married. I wish we could do it with a crowded wedding, but it was a small wedding because of the Corona epidemic. We held the wedding on the side of Kemalpaşa, a very calm and beautiful place outside the city. Today, you will only see frames from the wedding in the pictures.

Meanwhile, we Turks have a tradition:

In a Turkish Wedding ; The bride and groom sit on the table. The commissioner asks the bride and groom in order: Do you want to be husband/wife in good and bad day, illness and health ....Of course they ask better and poetically. :) After these processes are finished, the bride presses the foot of the groom. The expression of the face is humorously as if the groom is hurt. Everybody clap. And the marriage official handed over the marriage certificate to the bride.

There is also a Turkish-coffee drinking ritual when we go to ask for girls:

The bride makes coffee for the groom. Anyway she brings it to him. But she adds hot pepper and salt to this coffee. Meanwhile it happens when everyone s around of them.Eveyone watches groom's face.And he drinks this coffee.

I investigated this situation. In the old days, marriages were done in a blind manner. In other words, the bride and groom were married without meeting. Anyway, the bride could tell the groom that she loved another, without showing it to anyone, but by adding salt to his coffee.

This tradition has come to our day in a way and still continues. But his aim is no more than a joke to the groom.
