In a coastal part of our place in Macrohon, Southern Leyte Philippines. The sea level there when gets low tide, it became very low. It's like the sea turned to really dry. The stone underneath of sea water was shown. Even in the lower part near in the shore. You couldn't see a sea water.
When the sea water turned into very low. Many people will go to the sea snd search any types of creatures in the sea that can be eaten. Of course during low level of the sea you can't be so sure to find fish. Well, the fish will die if there's no sea water. That's why most of the people expected to find there are the creatures that are not familiar with many people. I don't know if it was shown in television but I'm so sure about it that I didn't see anyone of it.
I will only state one creature to show because it's only I have here now. And that is, sea shell and to be specific it's called "aninikad". A bisayan word that one of the Philippines dialect in the Southern part of the Visayas. There are many types of seashells and they're being named based on their appearance. Maybe it's easy to differentiate them when they have their own name.
So, this one is "aninikad". You cannot see this in every part on the Philippines. You can see this kind of shell when there's a "honasan". It's hard to translate what is "honasan" because it's a bisayan dialect. But let me give you a bit information about what is honasan. I hope you will now have an idea a little.
If we will say this word honasan. It means that part of the sea is not that deep and it has alive stones. Usually we call it honasan if it became really dry. However, some part of the Philippines used this word honasan even if their sea won't be that low level.
You can only call a part in the sea that is honasan when it has wide portion of stone. That stone serve as the home of many sea creatures in the sea. Like sea urchins, shells, fishes and many more.
Back to our sea creature "aninikad." This is a small type of seashell. It is very popular here. It's hard to find this kind of shell if you don't know how. But you can buy it here because lot of people are selling in our province, no worries. I think I said it all what is this "aninikad."
