Scientists in the United States are developing a mask capable of detecting the deadly coronavirus. Scientists at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are trying to create this fancy mask.
It is known that if a positive person breathes, coughs or sneezes in that mask, a fluorescent signal will be generated and it will be illuminated. It will be known that the person wearing the mask has been infected with corona.
It is learned that the project is at an early stage. However, the results are very promising. For weeks the team has been testing the ability of sensors to detect coronavirus in saliva samples. They have been successful.
A member of the research team in the United States renowned synthetic biologist and MIT professor. Jim Collins said, "I think this technology will be very useful when we re-launch our transit system and go through the airport security checkpoint."
He added, ‘Anyone using this technology before or after going to their workplace will be able to detect corona. It can be used to pre-examine who is infected with corona in patients waiting in the hospital.
Biologist Collins said his team had previously developed a sensor that changed from yellow to purple after the virus appeared. So this time too he did not rule out the possibility of making color-changing sensors.
Earlier, his team succeeded in researching the threat of Zika and Ebola.
