Hoy quiero hablarles un poco de mi trabajo y los casos que me han llegado a la consulta Odontol贸gica.
He visto el aumento de pacientes que llegan a la consulta con una ortodoncia no tratada, pacientes que no contin煤an los controles, ni asisten a sus citas con el ortodoncista.
El tener una ortodoncia no tratada puede ocasionar una gran cantidad de problemas en nuestra salud oral, principalmente porque se pueden agravar los problemas de mal oclusi贸n que se pensaban solucionar con la ortodoncia. Aparte de esto se ve comprometida la estetica e higiene del paciente, ocasionando acumulaci贸n de placa, que luego se convierte en sarro, inflamaci贸n de las enc铆as, mal aliento y en el peor de los casos Caries dental, dolor o p茅rdida de piezas dentarias.
Es una problematica que ha ido en aumento por la poca informaci贸n de los paciente y el intrusismo odontologico, que consiste en personas sin estudios, ni conocimientos, ejerciendo la odontolog铆a de manera ilegal. Es por eso que debes acudir con profesionales debidamente calificados.
Si actualmente tienes ortodoncia y no estas asistiendo a tus controles, mi recomendaci贸n es hacer el retiro de ortodoncia y una limpieza dental, hasta que puedas retomar tu caso de ortodoncia.

Today I want to tell you a little about my work and the cases that have come to my dental office.I have seen an increase in the number of patients who come to the office with untreated orthodontics, patients who do not continue their checkups or attend their appointments with the orthodontist.
Having untreated orthodontics can cause a lot of problems in our oral health, mainly because it can aggravate the malocclusion problems that were thought to be solved with orthodontics. Apart from this, the aesthetics and hygiene of the patient is compromised, causing accumulation of plaque, which then becomes tartar, inflammation of the gums, bad breath and in the worst case dental caries, pain or loss of teeth.
It is a problem that has been increasing due to the lack of information of patients and dental intrusion, which consists of people without studies or knowledge, practicing dentistry illegally. That is why you should go to properly qualified professionals.
If you currently have orthodontics and you are not attending your controls, my recommendation is to make the removal of orthodontics and a dental cleaning, until you can resume your orthodontic case.
En el caso que muestro en las fotos, el paciente llevaba varios a帽os sin asistir a consulta y solo ten铆a los brackets. Al examen cl铆nico se observa presencia de calculo dental, pigmentaciones y gingivitis. Se procedio a realizar el retiro de brackets, luego el acabado de las superficies dentales para retirar el cemento de ortodoncia y que los dientes queden lisos y pulidos, y para terminar realizamos una tartectromia ultrasonica para eliminar el calculo dental y una profilaxis dental para limpiar las superficies dentales.
Como resultado obtenemos una boca mas sana, limpia y lista para seguir rehabilitandose.

In the case shown in the photos, the patient had not been to the dentist for several years and only had brackets. The clinical examination showed the presence of dental calculus, pigmentation and gingivitis. We proceeded to remove the brackets, then we finished the dental surfaces to remove the orthodontic cement and the teeth were smooth and polished, and finally we performed an ultrasonic tartectromia to remove dental calculus and dental prophylaxis to clean the tooth surfaces.
As a result we obtain a healthier, cleaner mouth, ready for further rehabilitation.
