- hi hivers, firstly I want to say its a wonderful feeling to be on this platform, striving and bringing the best out of yourself with original and creative content and from the day one i was told about hive I know i belong here, wonderful groups, communities,people and all.
So let me just go straight, since 3 days now my Elepaq gasoline generator has been faulty. Its no longer news that in Nigeria there is no steady electricity supply, so people buy generator set so as to improvise and get another means of power supply. Its been 2-3 years I've been using this generator.so I needed the generator to pump water with the pumping machine and The generator refused to start (work), been calling the engineer for 3 days but hes not responding, So early this morning I take it up upon myself to find solution to this since i need this so badly to pump water.
So I started with the plug, I cleaned the plug thoroughly and went ahead to get other old plugs to test thinking it might be the plug yet it doesnt work.
So i engaged the engineer in a video call using whatsapp, told him I've tried my effort and to guide me, he asked me few questions and told me to check the 'starting coil', I was like how does he want me to know the starting the coil, told me where it is located, said close to the pulley.
I started loosing the gen and what I have in my hand is the Gen 'starting coil' according to what my engineer told me, then He said I should go buy another one and put, I needed to be double sure so I asked him if its going to work If i change that, so I did as he said,
So i bought a new plug and a new 'starting coil'.
The starting coil also consists of some wire and a connector that goes to the plug, so he directed me on how I'm going to fix that which I did, plus i also put the new plug
After which i start the generator and it works immediately😆
Thats the smoke coming out from the exhaust, mehn,...I was so happy to see the generator working knowing that i did it myself, so i start to couple the components back.
That was an awesome moment for me😍
Did what i could have spent alot of money on by myself,
Even though i spent alot of time/hours on this, At the end i was able to use it to pump water for the whole compound.
You too can also be your own engineer, always try to find solution to problems by yourself.
- please I'd like somebody to teach me on how to go about posting video on this platform I felt it would have been much better if I could post the video atleast It would save me from typing this much.
