Well it seems about a hundred years ago, way back in the halcyon days when Steemit was just getting going, that I started posting to the Tree Tuesday tag. I will be the first to admit that it has been longer than a brief minute since I have posted much to the tag at all recently. However, spying a pretty cool specimen of a tree outside of Charlottesville Virginia, I decided to snap a few pictures and share it with y'all!
According to Google's image search it is a smoketree. This particular species really seems to stand out here in Virginia as I don't think I've ever seen one before. Of course it is easy to see how the tree got its name as one looks at the whole of it, apparently the branches look like billowing smoke.
The cool feature about the Smoke Tree is at the end of the branches where one would typically see flowers or fruit, there are these tubes that when seen together almost appear to be like something out of Dr Seuss's Horton Hears a Who LOL !!
