Business is all about buying and selling. Before someone who's a seller of goods can sell, he or she must first buys one or two products before he or she can resells the goods again. As a farmer, before I will be able to sell my goods(chickens), I must first buy one or two things first,ranging from buying the day old birds to buying their feeds and some other important equipment needed for the farm.
But there is part of my business that I am always conscious of, the feeding part. Though before my business got to this level, I had to be buying feeds in segments for example buying 2 bags today, then after 3days I will go then get another 3bags for the birds. I had no choice then because it was due to financial setback which was all stressful and moreso, there are some of the gains that this buying of feeds in section rake away without you even knowing. Presently, I prefer buying all what my birds will feed on for those periods to buying 1 or 2 bags every now and then. Reasons why I prefer buying all the feeds(18bags for 100birds) that will sustain the birds for periods of 8weeeks are mentioned below:-
STRESS OF MOBILITY:- One of the major things to consider when buying all the feeds that will sustain your birds for those period is it saves the stress of mobility. For example, If you buy like 25 bags of feed at a go for your birds which tricycle can contain at a trip. It save stress of buying 1 or 2 bags and be carrying it with bikemen every 2 or 3days.
COST OF TRANSPORTATION:- Another thing to consider is the cost of transportation if you are buying 25 bags at a go which tricycle will be able to contain at once at the price of only to be #500, that's 1$ for carrying the 25bags of feed,compare to buying 1 or 2bags carrying it with bikemen at the price of half of a $.
INCREASE IN FEED PRICE:- Everybody knows how the inflation of price in market right now is, if you buy at once you are a safer side even if the price of feed increases. You must have got some in stock.
THERE WON'T BE BREAK IN FEED CONSUMPTION:- Another reason it is good to have all your feed available is that, it will curb the issue of break in feed consumption for the birds. If you are someone who likes buying feed for birds in section, like buying one or two, you might be faced with this issue when you don't have the feeds available and maybe probably there is scarcity of feed at that time. Before go around sorting how to get their feeds, you have caused a break in the feed consumption of the birds. Hence, they might reduce in weight.
NOTE:-
It's important to know that, in Nigeria today, it's very rare for price of goods to inflate then later deflate, it will rather stay at equilibrium even when what determines(naphtha) our economy generally deflates. -Peter Aleraiye Adekunle.
