Hello everyone, this is me (with my face partially covered with a KF94 mask) in my small little room. A sketch of Hive and the today's date 13th of March 2022.
As you can see I am of Asian ethnicity, and am currently based in Singapore for work (hoping for the borders to reopen so that I can reunite with my family, as it has not been easy with COVID-19). I love the idea of anonymity in metaverse, and that is why I am not sharing my full face photo, or anything about my family or any other person. I am not anyone important but I think I take privacy on a more serious note than others (paranoia maybe) and being quite familiar with the workings of the web, it is a common practice for me even on social media to heavily restrict information that I deem to be too personal in nature.
How I came to Hive?
My first foray into Hive came unwittingly in September 2021 so I have been here for around 6 months, and so far the community is really supportive and helpful. It is inspiring to see so many influencers in Hive, and I hope to garner more followers as I continue to post articles on Hives relating to Games. And why games? I guess that is because that is how I got started with Hive.
In September 2021, buying a spellbook in the Splinterlands game effectively created a Hive account for me, and it is not until in November that I first create my first post on Hive. It all started from my game guild which encourages our members to not only play game, but to be also active on hive. From 0 HP to 100 HP now, it is indeed a fruitful journey. Though the time spend on hive posts sometimes outweigh the rewards, but it is enjoyable at time to share especially when there are interesting battle challenges, or when I find a topic that might be helpful for others. When I was a new player, I rely a lot too on hive posts from others.
P.s. Our guild is recruiting! More details can be found our latest post here
Similarly throughout this few months, I have grown my investment in Splinterlands from 10USD to 274 USD
Though not everything have been rosy trying out TheTanArena for example, was a huge loss of 150USD from their box sales months ago.
What do I love π...
I love photography, reading and writing. When I was young, I read so many books in all honesty and that was why I was a librarian in school. My love for photography started when I moved to Europe for my studies. Those years were some of the nicest years of memories I had with all the friends from different countries. Snow, Christmas, medieval architectures are all so exquisite to Europe and writing this makes me miss seeing those places again.
All photos are taken by myself with some occasional post-editing or filtering. However those photos are all from years ago as it has been sometime since I last travelled. I have travelled I guess to tens of European countries, so the photos are simply few that are pick for this post.

Colorful building alongside the embankment of Girona, Spain. A very vibrant city which I lived in for a few months.
This was taken during the Sant Jordi festival in Spain. This is similar to Valentine's day but with books added in to the usual roses and love
The Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Hearing that news of how it was gutted by the fire back then hurts as the France is a country that I have close to heart
St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh Scotland, as usual it was a wet day which is quite the norm, cloudy and wet
All of these places, I have had the fortune of staying for multiple months, and I enjoyed the scenes and the culture. Fireworks on Bastille Day, Hogmanay and Cèilidh in Scotland, the festival during Sant Jordi, travelling circuses in France, multiple Christmas markets and much more memories that I can ever count with my bare fingers.

I do like to travel and some of my personal trips were to Bali, Korea, Japan and Thailand. Well I will put at least one photo I guess of myself and my wife (back then we were still not married)
Bali will always be memorable for us both

Watching anime and books shall always be a favorite past time. Countless of anime to mention and countless of books to mention.
But since I shed a tear today while watching the second season of the anime 86, I shall place a screen from that touching scene. There are good anime, and cringe-y ones, but occasionally season to season it is a joy to find an emotional anime with excellent animation, music and storyline. It also struck a chord in this current state of the world where war has led to many sufferings and deaths.

What do I do...
I am an engineer in my day to day job. Unfortunately I am not able to share anything from my current job as that is a common policy for most companies, but I have been in this field for almost a decade, and I do have some pictures from my previous jobs that I can share with the world. π
In my previous job, I do have the "luxury" of travelling all over the world, depending on where the sites are for the commissioning of the plants. It was enjoyable though at a point of time in life, more stability and less travelling is required, hence the switch to Singapore.
I do work a lot on LNG Carrier previously and here are some photos (name of ship has been censored)
Photo is taken on small boat heading to the tanker for embarkation
Crossing the Panama Canal
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean where there is nothing but the deep blue ocean
Endnotes
Perhaps a simple picture taken years back (though I don't remember exactly where it was taken, I believe this is the old part of Girona near the Jewish quarters) and is still a question to this day, shall we open the door to a new world, do we dare?
